Is a tricep extension more beneficial than a bicep curl? Do you exert more energy exercising your triceps than biceps (maybe an argument for this)? Do preacher curls illicit a greater stretch relative to a standing barbell curl? Is it dependent on what muscle group you’d like to strengthen? Is their biological variation in your anatomy, such as your insertions? Does that influence biophysical properties that determine your strength? One of the fastest ways to cut excess calories from your diet (and radically improve your oral health) is to stop consuming liquids that have calories. For the sake of argument we can assume coffee tea etc are negligible. Calories in drinks are 99.9% sugar aside from things like creamer (probably still has a fuckton of sugar)

Stop drinking calories.

In health, there are some thing objectively “better” but most are trade offs.

If you lift in the morning on a fasted stomach you will burn more fat. However your glycogen stores are likely depleted and you will not be as strong as lifted towards the end of the day when your muscles are fueled.

Are you looking to burn calories or get stronger? It’s not quite so black and white but you get the idea.

Most of “health” is based around a bunch of fairly similar practices that deviate dependent on your personal goals.

It’ll be much harder to make strength gains with long intermittent fasts. Not impossible. And fasting is super great. It’s just a trade off.

Over 15 years I promise you I’ve learned that everyone has the “objective” path to the elite health but really it’s just dependent on what you’re looking to achieve.

Oh yeah for sure, your REM gets smoked when you smoke before bed. That’s why you get those gnarly night terrors when ya quit. Dream sleep/recovery is so important I can’t help but wonder what’s happened after a decade of minimal dream sleep..

Realistically I smoke about 3.5g per week or a half gram a day. Which is really peanuts. It’s never been problematic for me, but in the last year or so I noticed it started becoming more habitual rather than recreational. I’ve been smoking pot basically daily for ~13 years.

Since school started back up I’ve been smoking significantly less weed. I’m so much more interested and engaged in my daily life. I feel like the old me again. Like I’m back on the right track of my life’s destiny. I don’t really want to escape it anymore. I’m content being 100% sober. It’s like an existential relief I could never quite explain. I almost feel like I’m in awe sometimes. I completely forgot how good life can feel.
