Yes. I got the audible version of this book until I realized it was made to be a daily companion. I should totally get the kindle/physical version.

Thank you, Seth. It reminds me of the Stoics. Meditations by Marcus Aurelius and The Guide to the Good Life by William B. Irvine are two books with similar approaches.

How’s everyone doing? Yesterday I saw many posts about the ups and downs of the market, which are immediately translated as the boom or burst of #bitcoin. Nothing new, expect for one change:

Since joining #nostr, reading about the platform and dabbling with #zaps, I’m much more optimistic for its utility. I can see a bright future regardless of the speculative aspect of coins.

Decentralization of data and freedom to exchange values and reward the community are just two of many other paradigms that this platform is being built upon. Very exciting moment indeed. #grownostr

No expert, but I believe that’s what #zaps are for. It allow users to compensate others for their collaborations.

It took me some time to setup but it’s very exciting once you start exchanging sats. Feel free to ping me once you have yours configured and I can return the favor I got here by sending you some.

Welcome. I still have to learn how to link to other people’s posts, but feel free to ask questions and reach out using #introductions #grownostr and other hashtags dedicated to assist newcomers.

Exact the same experience. Less community, more social capital. I’m still there, mainly to consume news and opinions. I probably already interacted more here over the past 24 hours then on my Twitter account over the past year.

As for #damus I hope there is a path similar to the path Hey! followed: note16trxz8xuuhagsx27qx84tltd59tzgzrhjaunjae8dljhc7h6qw8q9l95gj

Wow, thank you #[2] #[1], you guys are amazing.

Super nice to get a feeling of the economics of a potential future, but the experiment’s done āœ…

Hopefully next time #zaps comes my way it will be in exchange of producing something valuable to the #nostr community.

Much appreciated :) It’s nice to live in the future. nostr:note104l4wzdzxas5wj6svtynw90duetf9dh5haeufkggxwdkd96m8zqsamguwz

Ok, it took some time, different provides and sending copies of my driver’s license, but I finally managed to send my first #zap :) It’s easy to tell we are just in the beginning. #grownostr

Oh, so many cases of ā€œpiece of the pie tokenizationā€ that my mind goes 🤯.

Crazy 2 cents idea: imagine everyone are born with a certain amount of tokens representing your life time earnings, and you can exchange those for education, services, etc. Ones income are distributed accordingly and the tokens can be publicly traded. Turn tokens into smart contract for an even crazier world.

Now we get back to today’s collaborative web: wikipedia, imdb, unsplash and wish for a system to exist. Perhaps now we can have such experiment.

Apart from nostr.com and #[0] great post about relay setup, any other recommendations to learn more about #nostr? re: data, economics, papers, people to follow, how to collaborate, etc… #grownostr

Been pairing programming with marathon trainings for a little over an year, still procrastinate, but overall I feel more focused and lighter :). Hope you can find a well rested mind when you return.

My favorite part 🤣

Funny enough I may pass my decade long followers on ā€œthe other networkā€ in a couple of days. Loving everyone’s engagement.

If I remember correctly the Hey! case [1] set a precedent for preventing the blockage from the app store. The argument there was that Hey was an existing business and as long as their app didn’t push the sale of their own subscription, the app could stay. Much like Netflix.

I’m new and naive here, but the way I see it Damus hasn’t pushed/promote the sale of anything, being the ā€œconsumer appā€ of an ā€œexisting businessā€. And as far as zaps goes, you are linking to outside wallets, in which case, even if you need to remove the links, hopefully you could still point users to an online page/PWA with instructions (not ideal but would preserve the consumer nature of the argument)

In the end I hope you can find a solution, as I’m rooting for the future of #nostr and this app.

That, but also a general sense of community. It seems everyone is here to share and exchange rather than to build a social capital.
