I really love this community, #bitcoin and #nostr, because it's taught me the real value of religion. I grew up Hindu, but drifted away from it years back. I'm coming back to it now because of the solace it brings in such crazy times.

That’s really heavy. It’s interesting how so much is wrapped into a persons understanding of their own identity. My heart aches for people suffering especially kids.

I find a lot of solace in my faith by dying to myself and my own earthly desires/beliefs daily. It’s a reminder and a reality check. Unfortunately, so many families and communities are combating “church hurt” and “Bible Belt bigotry” that the people who really need help or would benefit from God’s Grace turn away from it. It’s horrible. They are forcing themselves into a mental wilderness that’s purely destructive… and it’s not entirely their fault.

I wish there was a way to eliminate the political aspects of the conversation and find actual solutions…

I guess this topic can be approached from many different angles. We can have utopian views of what an ideal system would look like. I do agree with you about the state. However, within the scope of the current system, it is becoming apparent that mass migration is being forced onto countries against the will of many people and even to their detriment, to the point where I see locals being put in second place. For example, kicking out vets from accommodation in favour of housing migrants. The state is indirectly abusing the people. I believe that migrants are being used as pawns in the states little games. The state has no interest in helping its own people, no way do I believe they are interested in helping anyone else but themselves.

I do agree that in certain circumstances providing people refuge is important though. But it should be a careful process that doesn't compromise the rights and safety of anyone who already resides there.

I feel that there is a lot of nuance to the subject. Ultimately it always comes down to the monetary system which facilitates this sort of stuff, in my opinion. But as far as immigrants following a process and competing with others in the job market, I have no issue with that.

I've done a lot of study into transgenderism lately, and I've come to a thought that really troubled me.

When a kid is groomed into thinking they're trans, they go back home and present their parents with an impossible choice:

Watch your child commit suicide and die or watch her commit suicide and survive.

Every parent on the planet knows what they'd choose.

Transitioning, socially and medically, kills the old identity. They literally call the old name a "deadname." Everyone who loved that person is forced to grieve over that loss. And they are then called transphobic bigots on top of that. The movement is destabilizing and cruel at its heart. It's not about empowerment. It's not about improving mental health. It's just really, really sad, and it's what I woke up thinking about.

I just want an option to block everything from mostr.pub I feel 95% of it's userbase is spam bots even if there are real people on there all my spam comes from mostr. I've reported most likely 800 spam accounts now & yeah new ones keep popping up same spam msg all have mostr.pub nip-5. So as muh length I go to block & report every user new ones keep coming up & nothing happens. Mostr.pub is a spamgate even with the relay blocked they are on other relays & it's all spam.

Why should I be forced to be subjected to this let me block everything @mostr.pub even if the users are on other relays if your nip-5 is mostr.pub you got to go.

You are glossing over the social effects of dumping masses of immigrants in concentrated areas with no regard for the people living there; its the difference between you inviting someone to stay at your home with the promise that they are getting a job and will pay your generosity back and be self sufficient, and me dropping a van full of homeless people in your living room and saying "dont worry, the free market will figure it out".

The "free market" would necessarily imply property rights are being respected, which they arent at the level of public property existing, and they arent at the level of public property not being maintained in line with how you would treat your own private property. The mass migrations are in fact an act of aggression, because the property rights (at the latter level) of citizens are being violated the same way as if I violated your home. You wouldnt invite these people onto your property so how is it ok to invite them to public property?
