Violinist and teacher, building a homestead on raw land in between lessons and concerts. Fascinated by how we can develop resilience in our lives, in our families, in our communities. I'm excited about freedom tech and circular economies, and am deeply grateful for the devs and advocates who are helping build tools for a better future.

good clip - thank you!

The circular argument that Siri mentions at the end is incredible - we can no longer do a control group (for this vaccine that never had a control group in its safety testing) because now that it's on the recommended schedule, it would be *unethical* to allow some children to be in the control arm and not get the vaccine.

So - I guess we can't test safety! oh well

created by bad actors, and repeated (mostly innocently, though rather stupidly) by nearly everyone else.

Understanding that the system is not actually designed to protect your children seems to be really hard for most people to grasp.

But we would hear about this more

But someone would have told me

But the NYT would have covered it

But my doctor is nice

But "everyone knows"...

ha! that's interesting

Someone close to me got an "agreeable" score of 1% on a recent personality test. We were cracking up over that.

Yes - idk... I'm not particularly polite- apparently in work situations I have a reputation for being very direct- but I don't like conflict, and I tend to see things from the point of view of others (often to my detriment - has caused me to stay far too long in some relationships).

I'm convinced that most people have way way more in common than they realize and it breaks my heart to see us at each other's throats while policy makers lie and steal.

Also not too long ago I was in the "Republican = bad person" camp, so I have some karma to address.

I suspect that this Gerald guy is too far gone, but I've been surprised before

I don't know. I guess it's probably expensive?

I've almost reached for a pen a few times to just make some corrections right on the pages. At least the next person to read this copy won't have to read some of the sentences multiple times.

Economics touches on every aspect of our lives, and this book is about how printing money has ramifications for the food supply.

Saifedean is not the author, but it totally makes sense that his publishing house would publish this book. It's perfectly in their wheelhouse.

Fair enough. I haven't seen any yet but I guess I'm assuming that some of the original formulations did use them.

It's SO bad. I mean, I knew it was bad, but really ... 😳

haha! I have a knack. Also nostr:nprofile1qyt8wumn8ghj7ct4w35zumn0wd68yvfwvdhk6tcpzemhxue69uhhyetpd3ujumtvv44h2tnyv4mz7qpqq6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eq42x98s re-posted some of his content

They're driving me nuts! Sometimes I have to re-read a sentence several times to figure out what is going on.

Is it AI reading it, or did the reader correct as they went?

Just found this great article about the #relevance or lack of it from so called #experts in the reddit forum linked below. It seems very obvious nostr:nprofile1qqsyx708d0a8d2qt3ku75avjz8vshvlx0v3q97ygpnz0tllzqegxrtgkklh5m goes directly in this faction of "baseless appeal to authority" for writing books which sole purpose is to sell them. Since for sure there are people with far better knowledge in health and nurtition than a person, which invested his time mostly in questions about economics. So I kind of answered my question above myself. Probably not worth reading for the lack of knowledge to write a book which is useful.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/r3avuj/saifedean_is_unsound/?rdt=45299

Saifedean didn't write the book. I only tagged him because his company published it. The writer is an investigative journalist who studied the various incentives around food policy. The thesis is excellent and the knowledge is solid.

Baseless appeal to authority? what do you mean?

A friend of mine is doing a deep dive into vaccine safety studies and I'm getting kind of obsessed. Wow. There really are almost no placebo-controlled studies on childhood shots.

I'm pretty sure even plant-based folks would find something useful in the book. It shows how the govt has subsidized incredibly poor-quality foods (sugary cereals, for instance) at the expense of real food. Even if you are not partial to animal foods you'll learn about how actual food - basically stuff that can't be faked - are a problem in a fiat economy that makes them more and more expensive.

I don't think the cover is clickbait. Saifedean is a carnivore and has done a fairly deep dive on nutrition himself. You might find interviews with his brother - a doctor - interesting if you want to look more into this.

[The book might make you question what you think is the "consensus:" who funds it, who publicizes it, who benefits from it. But I believe that you and I already had that conversation around vaccines so maybe I should stop here 😂]

hmm - ok. It just seems like at least some of these mistake could have been flagged with a pretty simple protocol (every sentence must have a verb, for instance).

But I can imagine that a good (human) editor would probably help improve the syntax as well as catch the glaring mistakes.

nostr:nprofile1qyt8wumn8ghj7ct4w35zumn0wd68yvfwvdhk6tcpzemhxue69uhhyetpd3ujumtvv44h2tnyv4mz7qpqq6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eq42x98s 's not a bot and I bet there's more that you two agree on that you can imagine.

you could lead a class in online privacy!

I'm not the best person to ask for this, but I think that River for instance might be a way to automate it. I'm assuming that Strike and Fold would also be on-chain but I'm not sure.

We should be able to find it, period. We should be able to isolate it (and replicate that isolation), and then use it in experiments - without other agents that are known to be toxic to animals - and reliably create infection or symptoms in other organisms.

As nostr:nprofile1qy28wue69uhnzv3h9cczuvpwxyargwpk8yhsz9nhwden5te0dp5hxapwdehhxarj9ekxzmny9uqzqqgd7ry53l56k4xjedl2gg8l5zx409vfsxmw568g8248avka8uz65aehaz noted, some humans/animals may not get ill because of the strength of their immune system, but you should at least see some pattern of infection from this isolated infectious agent.

And if not, then we should really turn our focus not to infectious agents but to the immune system.

I'm not MAGA, but one thing that I truly appreciate about them is that they are generally calling him to account for his recent actions and statements. The contrast with Democratic voters is striking. Very very few Dems called out Biden or the DNC for basically skipping the party (or keeping Biden in place after his dementia had been clear for years). The outraged conservative voices are very loud right now.

The group that elected Trump is not happy with him, and you can see it by those poll numbers you quoted. From 50 something percent to 33 is not great

My guess is that 1/3 are not Trump cult, they're partisan cult, people who support a Republican no matter what.

If you still have an X account, come join us on spaces in 5 minutes to discuss what's happening in Tornado Cash.

If you can't, here’s everything you need to know.

Storm is charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering, conspiracy to violate sanctions, as well as operating an unlicensed money transmitting business (MTB), facing more than 40 years in prison for developing software.

Early discussions focused on whether a non-custodial software tool like Tornado Cash can qualify as an MTB, as it never held control of funds; a prerequisite for qualifying as an MTB.

But Storm will not be allowed to use these interpretations of MTB law in his defense.

"I really don't want to hear control issues, or there must be fees and 'for profit'," the judge told the defense last week. These issues "are not going to show up in this trial, because they are not."

Since the indictment, the Government has announced that it is no longer pursuing that Tornado Cash violated federal registration violations as an alleged MTB – meaning that it is no longer pursuing the theory that Tornado Cash is a financial institution.

Neither Storm, nor the defense, will be allowed to mention KYC or AML.

And what about the First Amendment? Isn’t writing code protected speech? The judge doesn’t seem to think so. Free speech and privacy rights aren’t going to be discussed.

Additionally, all witnesses are banned from using the words legal, illegal, legitimate, and illegitimate. That includes any testimony to the general legality of uses for Tornado Cash, unless they are brought up to refute the prosecution’s evidence.

The Government is closing in on the future of privacy, and defending it will be a walk on a tightrope.

This seems like it is far beyond the reach of what a judge is allowed to control.

Nice!

I love our hills but that much level land looks amazing to me! so much you can do with it.

Wow. Just in case you're for real: what has he done that constitutes fraud and/or is treasonous?

so pretty!!

I finally have some borage about to flower. In the first few years on our land, I didn't really have the bandwidth to give seeds a good start, but now we have some fruit trees and shrubs established and I'm having a blast getting flowers going around them. Thanks for sharing these pictures, Maria!

I tend to jump quickly to false flag but it didn't cross my mind with this killing.

So the purpose would be to justify a crackdown or tighten surveillance?
