I'm a photographer/filmmaker/theatre artist based out of Anchorage, Alaska. Timezone GMT-9

I'm trying out Primal and and Freerse on my phone. I usually use Amethyst but I wanted to give these two a shot.

Web I use noStrudel, and iOS/MacOS I use nostur.

This is one tumblr gets right. Their sub blogs make it really easy to swap back and forth, keeping your follows and timeline (no algo reverse chronological, the other thing they've managed to not fuck up) the same.

Here it's just a matter of a client providing the functionality. Amethyst on Android and Nostur on iOS/MacOS feel like they're almost there, and let you go back and forth faily easily, but I run into the problem of not remembering what blog I'm on.

The more we learn the more we learn what we do now know.

So many things we can't perceive that tools have shown us exist.

We can see so little of the electromagnetic spectrum. Can you image what the world would look like if we could see all the wavelengths we produce with our myriad of radios?

Yeah, don't worry, we've still got people driving the killer robots we're making.

I went to Dallas last month and my brother insisted we go to the Kennedy Assassination Museum. I would have much rather gone to the Dallas Art Musuem, I would have loved to have seen those in person.

Fountain 1.1 with #nostr is now live on iOS and Android!

https://m.primal.net/KGni.mov

Why Nostr?

We regularly hear from both listeners and podcasters that the social features in Fountain are a great way to discover content that’s worth listening to.

When you support a podcast, or comment on an episode, your message is surfaced to your followers in the Fountain home feed and anyone that sees these can add the content to their library.

But this came with a few problems. When you first start using Fountain you wouldn’t have any followers so your posts wouldn’t get seen. If you wanted to share something you were listening to, you had to choose between leaving a comment on Fountain, or sharing on another social platform.

Today we are excited to announce a massive update to Fountain that solves these problems with Nostr:

- You can bring your existing profile and followers to Fountain

- Your boosts and comments will be surfaced in other Nostr clients

- Posts shared from other Nostr clients relating to audio will appear in your feed

- Conversation and interactions now flow freely across multiple apps

Read more about the new Fountain nostr features here: https://blog.fountain.fm/p/1-1

Please let me know your feedback!

Will you he releasing on something besides google play for Android?

I avoid the play store whenever possible.

I've got a front loading LG I've had for like 12 years I think? The only issue I've had, is that for a while like 8 years ago I was having to unplug it and plug it back in after every wash. It went away after a couple of months and I haven't had any issues since.

I just got a new maytag dryer, and I went with them because it was the only one I could find with a big drum, and zero fancy shit, because I don't need wifi to blow hot air on my tumbling clothes.

I hesitated to add NWC to nostr:npub1kvaln6tm0re4d99q9e4ma788wpvnw0jzkz595cljtfgwhldd75xsj9tkzv for so long, deeming it bad choice for mobile devices… until I could not hear 'wen nwc🧐?' anymore.

Now, in reckless mode, you can connect to Minibits from your favorite #nostr apps and make payments, even when the wallet is asleep😴.

Running into a small bug.

I setup two comnections, one for Amethyst, and one for Wavlake.

When I send from either I get a notification that it came from both connections and deducts from both connections daily total.

Only one payment is going out though, so that's good.

Damn, that works pretty damn smooth.

I hear some refering to themselves as an 'Alpha' i can't help but think "The lady doth protest too much, methinks"

Even more so when they bring up that red pill those transwomen used to reference an estrogen pill in their movie about wanting to come out.

nostr:nprofile1qqsyvrp9u6p0mfur9dfdru3d853tx9mdjuhkphxuxgfwmryja7zsvhqpzamhxue69uhhv6t5daezumn0wd68yvfwvdhk6tcpz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejj7qgwwaehxw309ahx7uewd3hkctcscpyug is there a way to get full error messages? I'm trying to setup a custom nip96 media server and when I upload it pops up a error that is half cut off and immediately disapears.

Photos/videos not so much unless you're self hosting. If nostr.build went down we'd lose a lot them.

Around 5,000 years ago, the Sumerians, who lived in ancient Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq), revolutionized how we perceive and measure time. They developed a sophisticated numerical system based on the number 60, known as the sexagesimal system. This unique system led to the division of an hour into 60 minutes and a minute into 60 seconds, concepts that are still in use today.

The Sumerians' need for precise timekeeping was driven by their agricultural society. Accurate calendars were essential for planting and harvesting crops. They also needed to coordinate their complex religious ceremonies and administrative activities.

To aid their timekeeping, the Sumerians made significant advancements in astronomy. They observed the movements of celestial bodies and used this knowledge to create a lunar calendar with 12 months, which closely aligned with the agricultural seasons.

The division of the day into 24 hours, each hour into 60 minutes, and each minute into 60 seconds was a monumental achievement. These divisions were not arbitrary but were designed to be practical and easily divisible, reflecting the Sumerians' advanced understanding of mathematics.

This innovative approach to time had a profound impact on later civilizations, including the Babylonians, Greeks, and Romans, who adopted and further developed the Sumerian system. The legacy of the Sumerians' timekeeping system is evident in our modern clocks and calendars, demonstrating the enduring influence of their ingenuity on our daily lives.

Kinda fun thing about the base 60 system-

It’s really easy to count to 60 on your hands.

If you use your thumb to count the pads of your fingers, you get to 12 on one hand.

Then use the five fingers of your other hand as the placeholders to get to 60.
