I have been looking at nip-53 and it may be general enough for what I need. I’m looking to invite a list of players to a game (which may not have a specific time/date). Invitees can agree to play and would have to provide information (I.e. a character sheet) to the host.

This is another symptom of Fiat. Movies are incredibly expensive to finance (at least movies that you want to be seen) and very risky to fund. Once you get the players in a system chasing fiat, you have control of their mindset.
IMO, to get an independent film movement like the 70’s-90’s, filmmakers need avenues for funding and distribution outside the current system.

Invitees could respond with yes/no/maybe and pass along a comment (which could be optional or required).
Clients could filter for invites or render them differently than normal notes.
If anyone else thinks this is useful, I may try my hand at writing a nip for this.

Seriously though, it’s still super early. Making #Nostr compelling for content creators will be crucial. If we never get there, it will remain niche and as I believe nostr:npub180cvv07tjdrrgpa0j7j7tmnyl2yr6yr7l8j4s3evf6u64th6gkwsyjh6w6 said, it will have failed.
But I remain bullish.
#Nostr is bringing people to #Bitcoin maybe slowly for now, but it’s an organic network like Bitcoin is.
I would say, bringing people to Nostr helps to bring them to Bitcoin.

That’s a great idea. I think invites could be used for a ton of things beyond the traditional e-vite, FB events use cases. Especially since we have zaps.
