i think they are way more logical than any type of ads. the advertising budget get paid to people, not services that show them. user can block them as well since they have control over the thing. and they are based any information you made public your self, not your private data they which is stolen by services and sold without your permission. they are nice. (comparing to traditional spammy approaches.)

afaik, the main thing about a secret chat is that your messages will be sent and received to/from one specific relay, isolated. based on my experience since the relay is limited and specific the performance is better as well.

any language can be helpful. it doesn't matter really. there is tools and examples for any language's out there to build on the top of nostr, bitcoin and lightning.

we had only one or at most 3 relay there. all of relays i mentioned can support dms well. for example when i use jellyfish immortal version on 0xchat between 2 accounts on same device (my own phone) it works well. but between two devices it won't work.

afaik dms are simple in relay side same as other stuff, the most complex part is performed on client side.

i can imagine 1 case for it:

1. between relay or clients there is one of them which can't make or response to queries about dms well.

for 0xchat relay specifically i think its banned in iran which make it more difficult to get it into work.
