⚠️ SPOILER ALERT ⚠️
🔴 If you haven't seen Blade Runner 2049, scroll away! 🔴
Just watched Blade Runner 2049 (2017) and I gotta say — I liked it way more than the original. While I wouldn’t bother rewatching the first one, 2049 is totally worth a rewatch. It’s beautifully made, nearly 3 hours long, yet never boring. Masterful pacing, atmosphere, and storytelling.
One of the things I hated about the original was that so-called "sex scene" — more like a rape scene, honestly. It didn’t add anything to the story or deepen the characters. If anything, it just made Harrison Ford come across like more of an asshole. Unpopular opinion maybe, but I felt the same about him in Star Wars too. That whole "pushy guy who doesn’t take no for an answer" trope was in many films back then and it has not aged well. Just makes the character feel obnoxious, not charming.
As for 2049, what hit hardest was the ending — not because it was bad (it wasn’t), but because it was tragic. The robot dies (or at least passes out), and so many people — human and android alike — die just so he can finally meet his daughter. It's sad, man. And kind of frustrating. Selfish assholes seem to get their way in both Blade Runners. In the first one too, I was secretly rooting for the androids rather than that obedient cop.
Still, despite all that — 9/10. Beautifully crafted film. Worth every minute.

Great! A list of Polish Bitcoiners. I should remember to open it on my laptop browser to give the ones I don’t know yet a follow.
Yes. Fuck substack.
Removing this limitation to enable BitVM or Citrea’s bridge doesn’t count as “proof.” As a node runner, I refuse to go along with changes that risk corrupting Bitcoin Core.
It’s arrogant to assume all risks have been accounted for. Just look at how Taproot unintentionally enabled spam via Casey Rodarmor’s Ordinals — a scenario developers didn’t foresee. That alone should be a cautionary tale.
The so-called “proof” in the mailing list isn’t convincing, and I’m far more concerned about the unintended consequences that often follow well-meaning but poorly considered changes.
Leaving the limit alone I mean. I’m not advocating ossification. I’m advocating a conservative approach when it comes to the changing the Bitcoin code.
I'm happy to give nostr:npub12rv5lskctqxxs2c8rf2zlzc7xx3qpvzs3w4etgemauy9thegr43sf485vg some artistic license here. It's also worth considering that the people who advocate for filters do not have a clearly articulated position. That includes a lack of clarity about how far they're willing to go. Is the line really at automatic updates? Just because nobody said it out loud? The arguments in favour of filtering seem to vary by who you ask. So that means any attempt at summarising the position can be interpreted as a straw man by someone who has a slightly different position that the other person.
You could advocate for preventing easier spam on Bitcoin — but instead, you’re advocating a change that enables it further. How about leaving it alone? You’re proposing a major change, so the burden of proof is on you. We’re not obligated to follow, and we won’t.

Saw your cover photo. You should definitely let your dog on the bed 🐶
Yeah, not drinking coffee and not rushing through your life have their own merits.
Second steak of the day!

Nostr is a parallel universe!
Made it 70 days coffee-free until I had a bit before recording a pod — no side effects.
Had some again during back-to-back night shifts, and once more yesterday to fight off sleep at work.
It helped short-term, but the crash after reminded me why I had zero cravings during my streak.
Time to start a new zero-coffee run.
It really works!
I’ve been eating steak more regularly, and yesterday I had no headache—even after a full day at the office.
I’m back at the office today, and I’m hoping the morning steak keeps the usual headache at bay.

It seems to be working — I’m spending less time on screens.
Looking forward to seeing the results in next week’s iPhone screen time report.
I’ll keep you posted.
