I was never fooled the purchase of Twitter was about freedom of speech, it was all about trying to control the narrative. Musk also has some disturbing ties to Vladimir Putin and I wouldnât be surprised if he was behind it the whole time.

This is happening because bluesky is actually still a centralized service with a single set of cryptographic keys for signing of everything, a single server that hosts content, and a single organization creating the technology.

Not all of this is bad. Honestly, I fear this protocol is just an Ukrainian POW getting his head chopped off going viral on it to become unpalatable for most people.
The Wild West of decentralized, impossible-to-stop censorship is an invitation for illegal activity and bad actors. I watched the Daniel Pearl video at the time social media was still young and we didnât know any better, and I think a kid or a sensitive person shouldnât be exposed to that, at least not with ease.
You can watch any news source as long as you are educated about their intended narrative. This is why every school should teach media training, specially in the US.
