cars from the early 2000s are going to go for a big premium soon
Is there room in nostr for people who aren't on board with bitcoin? A lot of people will be turned off by anything that seems "crypto" related, even though in nostr it's theoretically optional.
Gab had a browser extenstion that allowed you to "comment on any webpage" by automatically displaying a list of gab messages tied to that URL. Is there already something similar using nostr posts?
How does one reliably differentiate between these two approaches, when the latter will make every attempt to drsguise itself as the former?
The sense of community we have here is great but not something we can expect to last if someday nostr reached mass adoption. Ultimately though, in a client like Amethyst that I'm using now, something shows up on my feed because someone I follow posted it. In contrast to reddit where it matches a given topic/community I follow and has gained recent upvotes. It would probably be not too hard to have a nostr client that creates a similar experience.
I like reddit because the focus is more on content than on personalities. It's normal to read a post and an entire series of comments and not even look at the names of the people posting.
How can we make nostr posts:
* discoverable via web search
* sharable via traditional instant messaging apps, including with people who don't already have clients?
Any sites / feeds similar to this estimating node bandwith requirements for those with home nodes? Is it even possible in principle?
BREAKING: U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren has renewed her call for tighter regulation of cryptocurrencies, highlighting their role in illegal activities.

What can be done to sway public perception. Most American's seem to associate bitcoin with:
* crypto coin / NFT scams
* buying illicit drugs online
* ATMs used to 'help' unsuspecting victims send all their money to overseas callcenter con artists
* the same tech people that removed all our privacy online and the same finance people who wrecked the economy (in their perception)

Please give feedback if you're interested in the git-on-Nostr stuff.
I always imagined "source of truth" in a decentralized git solution would mean something like "top commit signed by known key". So you could pull from any repo that had that latest commit.
but this time the US might really default... wait i mean next time
Ordinals exploit the lack of confidential transactions in bitcoin. Passing an ordinal through a single UTXO with hidden amounts would completely break the ability to keep track of them.
regardless of if you truly believe you're right or not, this is still shilling
URIs seem inherently incompatible with the core concept of nostr which is lacks the "universal" component and separates content from location.
An AI generated image is like a very advanced form of pour painting. On the surface it looks as if it creates itself, but it's really a human artist using a technique. With a talented artist behind it it can be used to create something truly impressive. Or it can be used as a cheap way to make something that looks cool but requiring little effort.
