I finally finished my build using nostr:npub1rxysxnjkhrmqd3ey73dp9n5y5yvyzcs64acc9g0k2epcpwwyya4spvhnp8's easy-to-follow tutorial video. This miner/heater has been up and running on the #braiins pool for about a week, so it's almost time to move him over to my pre-coiner neighbor's house, where he has a cold basement and excess solar energy that he's presently selling back to the power company for $0.03/kWh. We're going to turn that cheap energy into his first sats! Sometimes an orange pill looks like a #iowa #hawkeye themed S9 space heater.

Now I need to build another one for myself. What should the next heater theme be?

Just tinkering at home with a single used S9. I followed @cryptocloaks space heater pdf and @btcsessions tutorial for the build. Turned out pretty well and it looks more like modern art than a bitcoin ASIC.

What's up with the #braiins pool? In the past few days, we're down from over 2% to only 0.67% of the global hash rate. The pool was finding 2-3 blocks per day, but it's been over 24 hours since the pool has found a block. ⛏️⛏️⛏️ C'mon probability and luck!

I'm hashing for #braiins as well. They're only about 1% of the global hash rate, so I only expect to find on average 1% of the blocks. A block every 10 min means ~284 blocks/day, so averaging 2.8 blocks/day is on par. While Braiins finds fewer blocks, there are fewer miners in the pool to share the reward and transaction fees, so you get more sats per discovered block for your work.

That said, I see the hash rate is down to 0.85% today. Fewer block find frequency, but higher payout. 🤞

Agreed. Fluoride can have all sorts of impacts if ingested. I use a mouthwash like Act, and don't ingest it.

I always thought it was odd that the excuse for fluoride in the drinking water was for teeth health. Fluoride needs to be applied to the enamel to be effective. Drinking it doesn't strengthen teeth. Even at the dentist they have you spit out the fluoride paste. It's analogous to drinking a bottle of spf 50 and explaining that it will help prevent sunburns... 🤣

Also consider looking into fluoride mouthwash to strengthen enamel. My dentist says it helps my teeth.

Don't plug in multiple HDs into the Embassy One because the Pi cannot handle more than one ssd usb connection. I think I recall reading on EmbassyOS dashboard under backup that there's a high probability of the data on both drives getting corrupted if you do so.
