Really? Or it's a joke? Riga is riga, cannot be in Argentina.

Same as last year— not a single pleb around (and yes, I was wearing a Bitcoin cap then too). 😢

This is a high-fiat region by Lake Zurich, and these people are still in a deep matrix sleep. They may have heard of Bitcoin, but they either don’t understand it or are just doing too well in the Swiss fiat system.

Anyway, thesis confirmed: we are still fckn early!

I was also at my kid handball tournament last Sunday, I didn't see a guy with a Bitcoin cap, would have definitely come to talk with you but it was quite crowded, didn't see you, or maybe it was not the same tournament, all sport halls look the same.

Use to be every day, it was almost anoying to be honest, but once per month would be nice if there is new stuff to add and fix.

If you don't know nostr:nprofile1qqsxl5u3tf266rpw4ejw9wqc4ja6a8rt8kd4aezwrx4qgrasnuxnehgpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgtcs76ymr channle on bitcointv.com go visit it immediatly. It's the most valuable stack of Bitcoin and privacy tutorial out there. The LN node full tutorial was used to create a "make your LN node workshop" at my local Bitcoin meetup, then I spent countless hours rewatching these videos to fix, uograde and fine tune my node. It's running much better than my Umbrel and I know everything around it, every service running, every ports open, that I can trust it much more. For sure it's not as easier, you might want start with Alby Hub, Umbrel, Start9 or another of these OS/preconfigured environnement, but eventually, if you are really serious about it, you will want to do it all by yourself, the way you need it and want it. 402's tutorial was the only sourcing helping in this way.

Thank you nostr:nprofile1qqsxl5u3tf266rpw4ejw9wqc4ja6a8rt8kd4aezwrx4qgrasnuxnehgpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgtcs76ymr !

Yes I agree, but as a long time Proton user I know more or less how their system works. My guess is that they store the seed in your account encrypted locally the same way that they encrypt the files locally when you send them to drive. Then you can recover using you account password to download and decrypt the seed.

The weak point is the optional recovery email you might have provided, if they allow to recover the seed from recovery, not sure.

That's definitely not the same trust level and security than Sparrow with a hardware wallet or signer but if it's implemented properly that's a good way to start in Bitcoin for any Proton user.

I have always been scared by any companies getting too big in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general. When MtGox, Celcius, FTX and many other failed, you would never know how close others like Coinbase, Binance, Tether... were to a similar catastrophic event.

Too big to fail is never a garantee, it's a risk for everyone. I'm from Switzerland and our 2 biggest banks, UBS and Credit Suisse, both failed in the last 2 decades.

The only risk mitigstion is decentralisation, at every levels. We should not let big company get too big and have any monopoly regarding Bitcoin, cryptocurrency and even finance in general. Well regarding every aspect of our life in fact.

Bitcoin is the only ultimate solution we have available today, eventually "stablecoin" will get obsolete as fiat will get obsolete, as Odell already mentioned.

But that is not enough to win. We must as well keep the power distributed, let hundreds, thousands of companies compete in the space for one product, one service, one region. We should embrasse this diversity to let everyone benefit and share a part of this new global, permissionless, economy.

I know WD Red are the king for NAS but here I use WD Red SSD for the important data and for apps, the Toshiba HD are just for videos, music, games and it's not so solicitated in read and write for this usage. I prefered the better cost here. In the end, whatever the brand and model it's kind of a lottery, WD red might just have more chances to last (my previous HD WD Red lasted more than 10 years, 2 of 3 are still fine in another machine, so never lost my array).

"illegal" part was not really necessary. Bloody media.

Still super expensive, I think I paid around 350-400 (~€) for a Toshiba 20TB HDD more than a year ago. I have 2 in RAID in my NAS for media storage, in addition to 2x2TB WD Red SSD for apps and documents (including photos, I like to scroll my photos as fast as possible).

Amazing, my friend from Swiss Bitcoin Paid did an awesome job, never seen one of these printed receipt yet.

I remember that week, I took money put on the side to pay tax due later in the year and bought BTC with it. It was legendary time, our grand children would never believe what we lived that year and the next one.

I hope we will never reach that point. On the other sode it would be a huge ads to push people to adopt Bitcoin, but then govs will fight us and treathen to discourage the weakers.

I never understood the hate for other coins and project among some Bitcoiners.

We can think that Bitcoin is more interesting, more valuable, better on that and that points. But why the need to trash the others that don't believe that (yet), it brings absolutely nothing. It will just push more people away from adopting Bitcoin as they don't want to be associated with this mentality and negativity.

It's ok to joke or meme on some funny situation but wishing a fundation, with people working and many companies and project depending on it (thanks the centralization), to get liquidated, is quite harsh.

Let's build on Bitcoin, educate, offer services, exchanges knowleadge but stay open and positive is the top priority and right mindset.

So I will not zap you 1 sat for this very low-value content, to not encourage you doing more.

Never understood how to read the right scale. It's USD value? multiplication factor from local low this cycle was 15kUSD, so 1 is 15kUSD? Or something else?

You're gonna love scramble PIN all day.

By the way, which device do you have? I have the Pixel7, if it's the same I might delay the next update.

In Switzerland it was mention by the national media news group. Of course they found a way to turn it negatively.

The first time I had to do multisign on Ethereum using Gnosis Safe with multiple hardware wallets I knew it was complete bullshit. I was running in my browser (full of addons and stuff I don't 100% trust) an app that I cannot easily verify. Then I had to blindinly sign a shitload of transactions on the hardware wallets which I had no idea what it was doing.

I also realize that I had ruin all possible privacy on all my ethereum wallets as now all my address would be connected to each others on-chain and some had ens nft with my name.

By the time I had move some asset to these mutisign contracts but stopped moving the full stack. I then realize that it's not only Gnosis Safe and multisign that was bullshit but the complete Ethereum ecosystem. Over the last 2-3 years I cleaned up all this shit, empty all multisign contracts (but I can never delete them), sold as much tokens I could found on my Ethereum wallets from DeFi experiments and airdrop and start selling the remining ETH, unfortunatelly I was still naive to think that it would pump once again with the bullmarket, reach close to 0.1BTC per ETH or at least 10kUSD per ETH, we are far from both, so I lost a lot of non-realized gain, but learned a lot.

The day I will zero out all my Ethereum wallets will be a huge relive but trace of my activities and link to my identity will be out there forever.

It's not perfect on Bitcoin, but still much better than this shitcoinery. Still always bullish on the future of Bitcoin and see light how to improve it in term of privacy.

Enjoy the ski break between working session, or the other way around.

It will be like cigarettes, never banned but taxed to hell. You are free to do whatever you want, but if you do something the ones in power doesn't want, they will use it as an excuse to take all your money away so you died miserably.

I was thinking that all Bitcoin maxis assumed ETH is worthless and will be going to zero. But suddenly here it is worth millions. 🤔

Technically he is right. If suddenly everyone would be willing to give away their BTC for 25$ (each or in total, doesn't matter), then Warren would have all of them, nobody else could use it, nobody else would want it, so he could do nothing with it.

Of course it would never happen, but in his own fantasy theoretical world, he is right.
