Correct me if I'm wrong, but I still see the repost + the original note in my feed if I follow the author. Is that part still needing deduplication?

Boot from live USB installer, open a shell, mount the OS partition, edit /etc/fstab, change UUID values to the correct ones (use lsblk) or just go with the vibes and use non-deterministic names like /dev/mmclpk0p1, they will work almost 100% of the time.

Why do you need to justify it? Other animals are fine with eating eachother, even the ones that are omnivores and have a "choice".

If you claim humans are special and need to be held on a higher moral standard than animals, then you cannot claim a humans and animals are worth the same (or are "brothers and sisters") since that would be in deep contradiction with your own original premise.

Keep up the random thought train, I enjoyed it.

On that topic, have you thought about using a lightweight AI to cassify NSFW/SFW/gore/porn, etc? There must be a bunch of existing tools out there already.

Not that much. Companies don't care about your real name to serve you ads. If bigKittyLobster93 likes gaming keyboards, he will be served gaming keyboard ads everywhere he goes, regardless if his real name is Johnny or Tommy.

I'm not. Everything I said applies to privacy. You can be fully anonymous and still have poor privacy if everything you do is tracked and correlated.

"Privacy" is multidimensional and weird. On one hand you are providing less data than others. OTOH, by providing significantly less, you are standing out from the crowd like a sore thumb, effectively being "unique" and thus trackable

What is mediocre about using the most efficient tools available at the time?

Just doing that is not the only indicator of quality of course, but that is besides the point.

If you take 2 devs with the same knowledge level and skill, the one that uses the best tool will have an edge and will outpace the other.

Until a few months ago I was extremely skeptical of AI, thought it was overhyped, etc.

I started using it more and more for work and it changed my mind. It's still overhyped but I now recognize how transformative it is.

It won't replace all intelectual human labor as many claim. It's a useful tool, a companion.

In the 60s/70s, the best programmers were the ones that could memorize more and consult reference manuals faster.

After the 00s, the best programmers are the ones that can google the answers faster.

Now, in the 20s, the best programmers will be the best prompters.

It's important to recognize paradigm shifts. Adapt or die.

Your prompts get sent in plaintext to their central server. The same as any other LLM clould provider. The only difference is that they pinky-promise not to log it.

It's up to you if you trust it or noy.

Use the Tor browser. YouTube is blocking more VPN endpoints than Tor exit nodes. Even if an exit node gets blocked, you can easily change the Tor circuit with a single click.

Me using the Tor browser to listen to music on youtube because youtube blocks VPN endpoints but not Tor exit nodes

I had a few niche technical subreddits that I still enjoyed lurking once in a while. They ruined everything.

I read on the mullvad subreddit that US servers don't seem to have this issue. It's still a PITA for those affected. If I have to switch to a US server, the latency is so high, I might as well just use Tor 🤣

It's absolutely wild that you can't use YouTube with a VPN IP while not signed in. Internet is getting completely unusable. I rather not use YouTube than turn off VPN or god forbid, create a Google account.

Note: this applies as well to all other FOSS youtube apps and frontends like LibreTube, NewPipe, yt-dlp. They also get broken.

The first thing I do when I try out a new app is go straight to the Settings page and go through every option. This is not weird
