Alternative to something like oyster shells for calcium. Its supposed to make the shells harder.
Give the shells back to the chickens occassionally as a supplement.
Also oddly satisfying...not sure if its primal or something from the ego but fencing off "your" land has some kind of feeling about it. Especially when its for a purpose, not just to exclude something or someone...although that is a nice benefit.
Just a steward though...its all temporary.

Cant imagine its a social media mamager or some kind of bot reposting things but if it is they are missing out. They post a splid amount of content.
Yesterday I decided to fire a client due to their work site being too dangerous. I wouldn't have been able to do that if I hadn't made some tough choices a few years ago and designed the life I wanted. Although I didn't get income today, I did spend the morning with my family, I'm getting work done around the garden in some glorious spring weather. Currently just relaxing eating my own free range eggs, venison chorizo and rocket straight out of the garden. I don't regret a thing today.

Chicken tractor build update # 5
Today I was able to get the door finished. I really like how this turned out. The shape was definitely a challenge but it made for a wider opening and better aesthetics than a rectangle door. I also got locked in the coop before adding the latch pull wire. 🤦♂️
I just need to add the perches, wheels and some way of pulling the thing because it is heavy! Stay tuned for more updates to follow.

I had a similar thing happen to me. Turned a horse stall into a brooder for chicks. String broke to the latch, got stuck inside.
Is that going to be mobile or stationary?
Started trying one called Picture This.
I am using the free version and its worked on a few things. Still havent checked on the questionable ones yet but I feel like it at least gave me a starting point to look into.

Wow...thats pretty slick. I make paddocks that range in size from 100x200 or 100x300 feet right now. Mostly over rolling hills and uneven terrain. Not sure how this would work on hills. Is your land flat?
Homebuilt patio fireplace is now structurally and functionally done. Over the next year: pour patio, hand hew a mantle, stonework all walls and chimney, put a roof on it. I'm ready for fall fires.
