1. I spose you're right I can only speak to what I've seen and my areas of research. Alot more data exists for societies deemed more important.

2. Maybe.... Maybe not... Depends on whether or not enough polarisation, propoganda, and dehumanisation has occurred to sustain a war that will be well televised and streamed so that all see the consequences and ignore their humanity in spite of it. Current wars are probably just desensising us to scenes from live battle fields.

Not surprised.... That seems to be the way the world is heading. ๐Ÿ˜‘ *sigh* no winning beauty pageants around here for me... My nose is only a bit too big, my smile awkward, but most importantly I'm the wrong kind of ethnic brown to get the diversity points ๐Ÿ™„

I like what you had to say but I think there's room for nuance in your first two points.

1. Global media outlets have convinced people they should be scared that the person behind them in the line at the shops is probably a terrorist, thus all government spying is necessary for their safety. Despite increases in spying powers admittedly not foiling any terrorist plots.

2. They've been convinced that any inconvenience created by desiring privacy is not worth it because they are happier living in their own algorithms. What they actually are becoming is more politically polarised with each side dehumanising the other. This more than anything will probably lead to WW3 or the decline of western nations....

Probably is rigged... The consolation prize is the new first place ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜’... But if ugly girls stand a chance maybe I should try one ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜‚

And there's less sugars so I can drink more and feel less hungover in the morning. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿท

People can't do the kind of math you're talking about because we don't know the future. You can't say this will save 900K lives. The world would be a better place if governments weren't in the business of industrialised, ritualised killing of poor people to make the rich richer, aka war.

I knew I had the terminology wrong even though I can picture the barrel in my head.

Wow, nostr:npub16llpfttm85ltrqc5ggyu5snfq38x6vwhanyrhrddpn43ylt3wdxqa99rf5,

Thanks so much for the Boost and the generous ZAP!๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ˜†

You've moved me up two places in the ranking!๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ˜†

Good, I'm glad it helped ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ˜„๐ŸŽ‰

#asknostr #bitcoin #whatsyouropinion?

OK Plebs, I have to confess...

I'm bummed!๐Ÿ˜

Here's what's happening...

The annual bitcoin conference, bitcoin2024, is in Nashville this year. They're running a contest for original songs to be pressed on the "Bitcoin Record." As I best understand it, the twenty-one songs that are upvoted the most on Wavlake ("21 CROWD-SOURCED FINALISTS") and curated by contest judges will make it onto the record: https://b.tc/conference/2024/bitcoin-record

So why am I bummed?๐Ÿค”๐Ÿง

I guess I assumed that "The Bitcoin Record" would be about bitcoin. I wrote a ballad about bitcoin, an homage to the genius of Satoshi Nakamoto, and submitted it to the contest. Thanks to the generosity of those who have Zapped it, "Asymmetric Liberty" is ranked #40 as I write this appeal.

Believe me, I have no delusions about being a great musician or artist, but at least three nostriches who've listened to the song say I have a bit of a Johnny Cash vibe...๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿคฃ

That aside, what I find disturbing is that--of the top-voted tracks ahead of me--only maybe 10-20% have anything to do with bitcoin!๐Ÿ˜ณ Sure, there's some really nice music in the running, and the songs that mention bitcoin are good, but so many of the entries have nothing at all to do with bitcoin...๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I'd love to be on the record, simply because I think the lyrics of my song (you can read them below) have some important things to say about this utterly amazing, world-changing invention...๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ˜

So I'm appealing to my fellow #plebs, #bitcoiners, #frens, and #nostriches; if you agree with me that the "Bitcoin Record" probably ought to be mostly about bitcoin; Would you please consider listening to my entry, or at least reading the lyrics? And--if you like it--tagging "Asymmetric Liberty" with a few sats to help it rise in the contest ranking?๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

If you've read this far, THANK YOU for your time and attention, and beaucoup thanks if you're willing to ZAP "Asymmetric Liberty" and boost this message so more eyes will see it and more plebs will know there's a serious bitcoin ballad in the running.๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿ’–

That looks tasty and healthy! ๐Ÿ˜‹

I wonder if your old boss has the stamina to keep up with Beave talking for hours ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ He said at the time that he could talk about this specific topic for hours.

Honestly, I don't mind talking about random stuff with Beave, we're friends it's what we do, but it's the amount of gun talk that comes from him that would be hard to tolerate if it were anyone else. ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜” Somehow he kind of even makes that fun though, got a lesson on pencil muzzles (I don't know of that's the right word, he said a bunch of words and pointed out the parts ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ) verses government ones and the history of why civilian AR-15s are better than the ones the US army issues. The philosophy of weapon making and warfare in Russia and the US and how they differ also came up. Always a hoot with nostr:npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh

Anecdotally, my improvements have come with eggs and cheese daily for brekky, fish oil pills when I'm not eating fish twice a week, mostly cow and lamb with occasional chicken or pork. Before carnivore I loved chicken and shunned most other meats but my tastes have changed to prefer reds. I'm also better and understanding what my body seems to need (not sure if that's the exercise or dietary changes) so I assume there's some better nutritional value in reds.

The USA got quite the head start there, amirite nostr:npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh ?

Some British Commonwealth manufacturers were using proprietrary measurement units into the middle decades of the 1900s

I got the impression that it certainly started in the US before my eyes glazed over and Beave realised what he'd done and changed the topic. ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿคฃ Joking again, he actually made the topic way more interesting than it has any right to be. You probably won't get much out of him for a few hours coz he said he was off to bed when we hung up.

Note to self: Whatever you do, don't let nostr:npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh get started talking about the standardising of industrial measurements in the late 1800s. That guy knows more than is reasonable on the topic and can talk ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคฃ jokes. If y'all are interested in how such things presided over a leap in innovation, hit Beave up he got kind of passionate about it. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I've been carnivore for about six months. I got alot of resistance from friends and family, especially because one of my besties is a natropath. If you want get past them you can say it's just a thing you're trying for 6-12 months. Even my natropath friend admitted in the short term it will likely have good results, but I think she's been suprised by my weight loss and the fact that a condition I've had for a decade has been greatly reduced so now I can and have been exercising again. I have energy and a clearer head. Although I take some supplements she insisted on.

All that to say, I would like to see some data if it exists too. I've been taking the I'm basically a meat machine so it makes sense to me to run me on a diet of meat. But the great improvements to my life I've seen mean I don't really want to go back but I may face some resistance from family and friends by next year if I don't.

I keep hearing that it's dying but I don't see much evidence of that in Australia yet.
