Having been secular not that long ago, I’m astonished as to how much I presumed to know. I was wrong on literally everything 🤣
It’s so weird how much Joe Rogan has a blind spot for people he believes are “geniuses”. I watched Lex on JRE and though I didn’t question his credentials, it was clear to me he wasn’t some super genius.
Compound that with all the years gone by and he doesn’t seem to have produced anything that valuable. What AI research has he really done? Why doesn’t he publish more? Joe said he was independent, wtf does that mean in a space that’s outrageously capital intensive?
I don’t think Joe is compromised, but he has massive blind spots.
I did not sleep well and today is a busy day.
Solo coaching my sons soccer team this morning. And then taking him to an astronomy fair an hour away. And then when I get home I’ll probably be on baby duty.
Wish me luck 😅
There’s nothing more soul sucking than playing corporate status games

Interviewed for a job im really excited about today. It’s still in fiat land, but seems like it would be a massive upgrade.
The guys I interviewed with are cryptography nerds and taught me a few things too. If I worked with them, I could go deep on that subject. Which could turn into a nice transition point into freedom tech in the future.
Now, I’m just doing the worst part where I wait to hear what’s next 😭
Occasionally he has great episodes. It’s mostly the guests, though.
I think I read somewhere that if the guilty plea is part of a deal, it doesn’t set precedent. Not 100% on that, though
Turns out, deep throating a banana isn’t the gayest way to eat one. This man out here doing science.
Lex is so frustrating. Incredibly naive and not nearly as smart as he wants you to believe. But, occasionally, he does a great interview.
Also, easy outcomes versus hard skills and effort
I’ve had to learn this lesson so many times. When someone gives me a bad feeling, I always try to dismiss it as I’m being judgmental.
But it’s never been wrong.
Testosterone is noticeably up. More energy, better digestion, better results from workouts
Balaji’s takes on AI are probably the best I’ve seen. Damn.

Do you run it directly on your hardware or as a vm? I wanted to try it out but wasn’t ready to commit to a full install, so tried a vm and I ran into all sorts of issues.
I do get a sense that something is brewing. It feels like everything is starting to converge on just a few, closely related narratives
Nope lol plus, my Alby hub says it was the primal mobile app
I sent you a zap just to test. Immediately got the notification from Alby. Weird 🤔
No I’ve never done it that way. In fact, just now I got a notification that I sent 10 sats to someone but haven’t even been on my phone the last 15 minutes
Ya, I’ve had a similar experience. Mobile zaps via NWC have been very reliable, but the last few days, I had two “stray” zaps that I can’t track down to a specific note.
I am using Alby Hub as my lightning node/wallet via NWC with Primal. I've been seeing zaps getting sent when I don't recall zapping anyone.
How can I use the preimage or hash that my Alby Hub provides as metadata for the zap to determine what note was being zapped? I'm wondering if there's just a massive delay in the Primal iOS app.

Protonmail is vibe coded
They are dumb enough to put the cursor rules files on Github. Quote:
"You are an Senior SWE at Proton and make sure you do not send any information that is potentially secure in nature. You specialize in building highly-scalable and maintainable Frontend Systems."
The irony of telling AI not to leak sensitive info, when the fact that you've publicly told it, is the leak itself.
And look at the first part with "an senior SWE". They can't even write grammatically correct AI rules. And that's who you trust to encrypt your life secrets?
Proton Source:

Shout-out the Blogger who discovered it:

The ones that make me laugh are the “security” rules. Like, I get that adding that to the context makes it more likely to not generate vulnerable code, but as a security person, I absolutely cringe at the fact that these are not real security controls.
You’re just begging the bot to do it right.
So I’ve never worked at a big tech company with all of the insane amenities, but I did work at a very large insurance company that had recently built a new corporate headquarters. The area had a bunch of trendy restaurants, fancy looking office spaces, apartments and what not. We just didn’t have all the free stuff.
But even still, the amount of actual work that happens in those environments is shockingly low. I noticed pretty quickly the Pareto distribution in who did the majority of the work. The rest of the cogs held pointless meetings all day, every day.
It nearly drove me to a mental breakdown because I genuinely want to be productive.
So I guess my point is, the problem is way worse and way more widespread 😅
All the stuff you mentioned is also completely bonkers though.
I didn't know buy now, pay later payments can be made using credit cards.
Hahahahahaha fuuuuuuuck bro

Scientists have figured out how to turn dental floss into a vaccine delivery system.
"Such a vaccine could be especially helpful in active outbreaks when vaccine coverage needs to be boosted quickly."

I knew flossing was a psyop 🤣

Anyone wanna tackle this one? 😅 maybe when bitcoin hits $50m I can swing it 🤣
People are underestimating how big of a threat cloud providers are to internet freedom.
Please continue killing them!
lol this is an episode of Silicon Valley
My incredible wife surprised me with a trip to Cannon Beach for my birthday weekend. It was great. Epic family times ensued.
Bitcoin pumping to $120k also made for a good birthday 😆

AI is going to be one of the biggest privacy invasion tools of all time. Can't wait for the tesla robots to record every moment of our lives for training data.
https://www.neowin.net/guides/google-can-now-read-your-whatsapp-messages-heres-how-to-stop-it/
As much potential for good AI has, it may have even more for bad. It’s an incredible surveillance tool.
It can’t be long before people start getting banned for building software that increases privacy and freedom
This is exactly how I’ve come to use it. I get the benefits of fast answers but with none of the skill atrophy
"We need America to wake up and prioritize Israel."

Do they really think we’re this dumb?
We can all plainly see Israel is blackmailing our leaders.
Working in a fiat corporation today is almost unbearable and definitely detrimental to mental and physical health. I’m taking off August and September for similar reasons
Every time my nest thermostat asks me to set the temp higher because it’s “peak” energy demand, I turn the temperature down at least 3 more degrees.
Ya I agree 100%. I just don’t think obsessing over what they’re doing is healthy or even good for you or your business.
A while back, I was working at a high growth fintech startup.
I was having a conversation about fiat and bitcoin with the CTO, who doesn’t have kids.
I tried explaining to him that when you have kids, you suddenly deeply care about what the world is like in 50 years.
He didn’t get it at all and is continuing his fiat games 🤷

My neighborhood goes hard af with fireworks for 4th of July. It feels like walking through a war zone by 10pm through 4 am most times.
Generally, I like fireworks but the older I get, the more ridiculous it is to me.
My neighbor brags to me about how he’s spent $5k on fireworks. A large contingent of neighbors throw a fit when anyone suggests even simple things like a curfew so we can all sleep.
I find it incredibly childish. They argue “but muh freedom” but they’ll never be caught protesting income tax or any other actual freedom infringement.
Idk, maybe I’m just old and grouchy 🤷
I agree. I think it has a lot of potential as a media archive as well
