Yes, but at this age, also. 😂

My husband made brunch. A big spread over the whole table.

Now, he's cooking an elegant, simple dinner and the wine selection is 🎯. It had to be the Portugese rosé. How did he know that? He's like a sommelier.

I guess that's because of which women still have husbands and still like them, so that they want to brag about them.

I'm at the age where women brag about their husbands cooking dinner.

Then run it on a PC and you can access it from the browser of any device in your LAN.

Also means you have to always use the same address or you have to verify multiple addresses.

I used to be really adamant about traditional gender roles, and I loved being a housewife when the kids were very young. But I'm at an age where the dynamic often flips, as the men are simply worn out and the women are making solid incomes again.

Yup.

Although, I also wonder if this isn't meant to slow down people withdrawing their Bitcoin. I bought it, the seller gave it to them, and now I am fretting over the withdrawal process, when I used to get the money off within 5 minutes of the purchase and then figure out what to do with it, after that.

Yes, but the numbers aren't being recorded along with each transaction.

I'm trying to move Bitcoin I just bought into cold storage. That's what started the rant.

It's an element you can buy with cash. That makes the entire transaction highly fungible. Fungibility is the basis for anonymity.

This is where Bitcoin quickly starts getting overly technical and a bit shady, and everyone not wanting to live their life in a remote mountain castle in a green body-stocking heads for the exit.

I guess most people don't buy on-chain, anymore, anyway. Probably just DCA in little chunks over Lightning, and then just leave it there.

I guess I'm a total Bitcoin dinosaur. With Bitcoin, you have to constantly chase whatever the news is and jump from one tech stack to the next, and I can't keep up. I'm like a digital money nomad. Coinbase, Swan, Muun, Breeze, Sphinx, Ledger, Bitcoin.de, Relai...

But Bitcoin isn't my hobby, it's just my money. I shouldn't have to constantly study and reorder everything, just to keep my money. I buy Bitcoin so that I don't have to do that, but it needs attention like a stock portfolio. And there are constantly debates about Bitcoin Core that are terribly important, but just seem like everyone is not speaking English, and I don't get why all of these changes are being added to the software. None of it seems to make Bitcoin work better as money.

Now, they be like, you'll need Tor for Bitcoin, in addition to your Lightning node...

Anything else? Do I need to learn quantum computing, mechatronics, and astrophysics, next?

Well, yeah. Probably. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm so tired of people old enough to be my child all like damn Boomers buy gold instead of Bitcoin.

Yo, gold is a shiny yellow rock. You can go to a store in the mall and buy it for cash bills. You can then put it wherever you want and it doesn't just disappear from there because you got the wrong software update, or clicked the wrong hyperlink, or whatever, as rocks aren't digital. They are rocks. And if you want to sell it, then you take it to a store in the mall and they give you cash bills back.

_Of course they buy gold instead of Bitcoin_, as Bitcoin is a gigantic, electronic PITA and people are constantly misplacing their Bitcoin keys along with their reading glasses and the document they were supposed to bring back to the car repair shop.

And I do so hate that the laptop I was running my Lightning node on died. And then I got another laptop and wanted to run it on there and see if there's some way to resurrect the wallet, but I'm glad I didn't as I appear to have a virus and the whole thing needs to be reset because the network card and the touchpad suddenly turned off, and it's like where's my fucking money and my nerves are just totally shot omg I so hate computers.

And all my pitiful little lump of money is in Bitcoin and I keep accidentally losing part of it, or killing the servers, or missing the right recovery keys and every time a phone or laptop dies I lose access to my fucking money and have to buy equipment and dig it out of electronic purgatory and hope I can access it because I sometimes can't because I am too fucking stupid to use Bitcoin, which means, statistically, 99% of humans are too fucking stupid to use Bitcoin and this is why everyone is like, please pay me in dollars.

...and now they make you verify the wallet you want to send the Bitcoin you purchased to.

Fuck all of them. Fuckers. Fuck this shit. So fucking mad. Assholes. Fucking spyware bullshit.

No, you are mixing up control with possession. Control can be direct or indirect. Possession is what gives you direct control, whilst ownership gives you indirect control. (You can have both possession and ownership, but I'm presenting them as mutually exclusive, to keep the argument clear.)

The weaker your ability to legally-enforce ownership, the more direct your control has to be, which means you have to take physical possession of everything you want to control. Which sounds great, but makes advanced economic activity difficult and ultimately makes it simpler to depossess you (intentionally or unintentionally), by concentrating the points of failure.

Silver is mostly a biproduct of mining other things, so the supply hardly responds, directly, to increases or decreases in price.

Silver heading up over NVIDIA, to the second spot. Bitcoin is holding its own.

Gold 🪙 4525 USD

Silver 🥈 77 USD

English-speakers keep sending me this stuff because they don't realize that this has always been the law, in postwar Germany.

We are, after all, still occupied by the Americans, and they wrote the Basic Law.

I ordered the merino hoodie and it arrived on Christmas Eve. I opened up the box, put it on, and haven't taken it off, since then, except to sleep. Wool is so amazing, for real. I have no idea how it can be that thin _and_ that warm.

My husband wants to invest in some different colors and shapes, now. All I know is that I am no longer feeling like a human refrigerator and I love it. I usually walk around, wrapped in a thick blanket, with fingers like icicles, while he sweats in a t-shirt, but I am now blanket-free and have warm hands! 🎉

Stromwechselzeit ist da. Krass, wie billig Strom jetzt wieder ist. 👀

When Trump tries to do something to protect persecuted Christians in #Nigeria 🥰, but he does it on Christmas 🫣 and then posts one of his tacky tweets 🥴 and it's like, you're cringing, but...

Well, it's the thought that counts. 😏
