I honestly gave up on the government. They have no idea what is happening, why or how to fix it. No 'side' in the debates is doing anything more than scream at the other side. Any and all "solutions" offered are just kicking the can down the road.
You have one side that would rather watch the country fall than raise taxes on their campaign contributors, and the other side would rather watch the country fall than lower payouts to people who don't need the help.
I don't think it's worth the time and effort to get angry about it. That just burns us out. All we can do is protect ourselves, our families, and be ready to rebuild a new society when everything falls apart.
There are four primary resources of civilization. Information, Inspiration, Capital and Trust. We need methods to manage these AS resources instead of just stories that we tell each other.
If we can secure our foundations in all four of these resources, we will be able to get through the final great filter and reach for the stars. If we can't do that, we don't deserve the stars.

Given the nature of capital in our society, the answers you are going to get are purely subjective. My answer is that it can be, if Bitcoin is chosen by people as a replacement for the existing fiat monetary foundation that has been dragging our civilization into the abyss for the past few centuries. Things will get worse before they get better.
Bitcoin is an abstraction of the concept of Capital, which is the way a civilization values and exchanges value for goods and services. If we can build the tools so that Bitcoin is accessible to anyone and everyone who needs it, and then build out the networks to ensure that transactions made in Bitcoin are recognized and protected at the governance level of our civilization, then it can and will supplant the existing fiat currencies and become the reserve asset that will allow us to expand out into the cosmos.
Grand vision, and also purely subjective. But that's my answer.
Every day I check my social media accounts for what's new. News, commentary, life updates, funny memes, etc.
Facebook is hell. Ads, junk, idiots, jerks, and there isn't anything I can do to control my feed.
X is somewhat better, at least the profiles I follow have interesting content sometimes. But notifications have been killed so I have to go hunting for anything that I really want to see.
Discord is safe, only the groups I care about, only the people I care about.
Thank god for Nostr. It's a mix of all of them, but I control my feed, and while there are jerks, there doesn't seem to be very many idiots yet. And if they show up, I'll laugh and mute them.
Someday I'll be Nostr only. But I have a large network to build first.
