the church didn't represent a large swathe of the population who were not counted and did not live in cities due to mainly being pastoralists herding cattle, sheep and goats around the commons. these people were called 'heathens' as a perjorative especially by city dwelling pompous twat "christians".

yes, the great fire of london, 1666, happened because of the filth and trash in the streets, while the plague was raging, as a direct consequence of the Enclosure Acts

wikipedia mangles it and makes it sound like it didn't start until the 16th century but it started at the beginning of the 15th century and by 1666 the bulk of the nomadic farmers of england/wales/etc were driven off their land:

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Inclosure Acts[a] created legal property rights to land previously held in common in England and Wales, particularly open fields and common land. Between 1604 and 1914 over 5,200 individual acts enclosing public land were passed, affecting 28,000 km2.[1]

for some reason americans call it "the inclosure acts" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inclosure_Acts

even though in english it is generally referred to as "enclosure" and you see this in the search results:

fascism strictly speaking is an italian thing related to the concept of a bundle of sticks strapped to an axe, and symbolising the use of martial force to control production, and is far older than socialism. socialism is really a rebrand of fascism, when you think about it.

first point is the black death happened because of royalty driving the "heathens" out of their nomadic lifestyle in the commons. the great fire of london was one of the most vivid examples of the consequences of this.

i don't know the history of other parts of europe that also had this pandemic but i can only speculate that they similarly crowded poor people used to living in the wilds into cities and the inevitable unsanitary conditions brought the rats.

the word was fascism, though i think the intended meaning was national socialism. or am i seeing something other than a certain secret relative of the Rothschilds rather than who everyone else is seeing?

i've almost got 2 small and useful nostr tools built.

first is mostly done. it's intended to be part of a bigger project involving decentralised git repository hosting, and includes generating bytes that anchor a commit to the Bitcoin chain:

second one i'm just adding a little extra polish to, it's simply a NIP-05 hosting server app that you can run with just a command line. this evening i should finish with a basic SSH deployment facility that lets you run it with the defined command line arguments and it automates the full setup on the VPS for you automatically, given a password and/or SSH key.

i'd love to do more things but i need funding desperately to continue paying my ultra-minimalist living costs. really, if i had about 800eur/month worth of sats coming in, i'd be fully covered.

not sure how to get started on this because i did have a big project but without other people working with me and already existing funding it's difficult to put energy into it - it's just a big project. i could trim it back to the state of an earlier implementation with a less flexible API, but it would then need some substantial work anyhow to present it.

so i took a new tack in the last month, after liquidating my meagre possessions, a FHD 24" monitor, a second laptop, some bluetooth speakers, started trying to live off a milk diet, and doing small things at a time.

just not sure how to present this as a donation-worthy overarching thing. the name... i mean, mleku...

milk is GFY... golang bitcoin lightning nostr specialist, building little things to make bigger things easier to do.

i'm so close to the bone at this point that i have to start begging.

so far nobody's actually reported having used anything i've done and all of the work of my last year, for what it's worth, is not helping me right now.

i'm going to be thinking deeply about this subject.

one other optimisation i've had to make is to stop spending so much time "engaging" with nostr, in the sense of trying to figure out where i can position myself to get attention so some funding will come, by following the paths already existing.

so i'm aggressively thinning my follows out to eliminate all the other users whose content and engagements with other users is just making me waste my time.

i've got maybe one possible small task coming up helping someone with some network infrastructure optimisation, but other than that, there is no streams of sats coming in my direction.

if you need a Go programmer who knows the cryptography and protocols of Bitcoin, Lightning and Nostr quite well, to do something for you, and you want to pay to get the work done, i'm primed and ready to hammer something out on your behalf.

i'm not a big fan of communism but i laugh when i see castro and stalin and the rest being parodied, what's special about the german?

i generally run it somewhere around 40'C so far it seems that it doesn't die if it starts about 45'C

currently my main fermenter rig is a bucket full of hot water, with some foil over top of the bottles and then wrapped in a synthetic leather jacket.

i'm still trying to get it to ferment right down to zero lactose left, but i don't have enough storage/fermentation vessels ahead of my consumption yet, and i think having an insulated tub with an aquarium heater keeping it steady for a full 24 hours is also needed to get that.

but basically, every time i consume a whole quart (1L) at a time I immediately refill it with room temp UHT pasture fed milk and then put it into the reactor... so i think i'll start to get to having near fully complete fermented.

soon TM

the best bit is how easy it is to do this culture. the two bacteria just own the milk within an hour and nothing else grows in there. i've tried to grow other micro-organisms before but this is by far the easiest. even yeast isn't this robust.

not sure how to evaluate that as distance. 50cm as a step means 15km and 11km. calorie burn depends a lot on the overall rise of altitude of the path also, which determines the power cost, plus the time it took gives you a pretty good estimate of the energy cost.

15km is a good decent distance to do on a 3x weekly rate for baseline cardio though.

it would be super awesome if someone made apps to gamify this and let you determine how much you have improved in cardio and strength based on those more complex elements of the walk.

i played with an under-armor app for walking at one point a while back. i've had to dial back my walks a bit to try and focus more on work and let myself recover from steep hill climbing.

i almost got a job with one of the subsidiaries at the time, consensys, but my passport ran out and i didn't have the money to replace it at the time, working as a volunteer-for-bed-and-breakfast at a christian hostel in amsterdam.

subscribe, ignore. they aren't that radical and build upon the decentralisation meme of nostr.
