They will be next. Apple is using Damus to make an example. Just like clients on Google Play will be with time. Not a matter of if, it's a matter of when.
Call me tin-foil hat, but to me it's also an indirect attack on #Bitcoin If we aren't free to exchange ideas, thoughts and commerce and what is acceptable is decided by a committee, we are going down a slippery slope or perhaps we already went down that slope?
I think their reasoning has to do with Apple Pay/30% cut they take as they have something planned and they don't want alternatives to flourish or at least giving people the idea that Bitcoin is more than just a valuable asset but also a medium of exchange to pay for things cheaply using the Lightning Network. This tweet below is what I'm worried about and why they might be doing this.

Semi-off topic, but I always thought it would be cool idea to revive OpenBaazar and make it the central #nostr marketplace. So make Openbazzar a client for e-commerce on Nostr.
I wondered that myself initially and had to re-read till I realized I think he is trolling and just having a little fun with us. His post about Nostr being dead clued me in, he is having a little subtle fun based on the events of today.
Can confirm Syncthing is on EmbassyOs/Start9
Really handy program.
They will soon, just like Google Play will in time. They are just making an example of the largest client for IOS and flexing their muscles.
Wholeheartedly agree Corvettes are awesome. Would love to own one as well!
If you got 50k-70k and don't mind the C4 you can get best of both worlds, a race car for the street and highly collectable. I did a note about them previously.

As a Android user, I'm fully conscious that Google will play the same sort of games and deplatform clients from their store. It's just a matter of time. Same can go with Microsoft to a degree as they have already uninstalled apps without your permission going as far back as 2015.
You're only really safe if your on a open-source OS like Linux or BSD.
People need to start going out of their way in supporting small businesses whether brick and mortar or otherwise and not handing over money to big corporations that clearly hate people like us and what we stand for. Why fund them?
If your in the market for a new phone buy a Pinephone + Waydroid for Android emulation or install Ubuntu Touch.
Vote with your wallet.
Make the process simple like Discord where you can access via the web as well as downloading a desktop/mobile client if you so choose and hand hold them through hard steps + automate.
2000 Chevrolet Corvette C5-R
The Chevrolet Corvette C5-R is a race car that was developed by GM's racing division, Corvette Racing, and is based on the fifth-generation Chevrolet Corvette (C5). The C5-R made its debut in 1999 and immediately became a force to be reckoned with.

It won its first race at Texas Motor Speedway in its debut year, and went on to dominate numerous endurance races for years to come. One of the most notable achievements of the C5-R was its success at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The car won its class at the prestigious race in 2001, 2002, and 2004. The drivers who piloted the C5-R to victory at Le Mans include legends such as Ron Fellows, Johnny O'Connell, Oliver Gavin, and Jan Magnussen. These drivers were able to extract the maximum performance out of the C5-R, which was equipped with a variety of high-performance components.

Under the hood, the C5-R was powered by a naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine built by Katech, which produced around 620 horsepower at the height of it's dominance. The engine was mated to a Hewland five-speed H-pattern transmission, which sent power to the rear wheels.

The car featured a lightweight body made of carbon fiber, which helped to reduce its weight and improve its handling characteristics. Additionally, the C5-R was equipped with advanced aerodynamic components, such as a large rear wing and a front splitter, which helped to generate downforce and improve its grip.

Chevrolet Corvette C5-R was an incredibly successful race car that left a lasting legacy in the world of endurance racing. Its numerous victories at Le Mans and other endurance races cemented its place in racing history, and its distinctive design and high-performance components continue to inspire racing enthusiasts to this day. #cars #carstr #racing #racingcars #grownostr
I'm not disagreeing with this idea in principle, but Apple will get wise to it and we will back in this same situation a few months from now.
I liked your PWA idea and I feel that might be the best way forward, imo for Damus or any other client. Whether Will wants to continue and go this direction only he can answer.
Agreed, it's about the money.
My Apple Pay thesis is just me wearing my tin-foil hat. This tweet shows where I'm thinking things will go.
It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. Client #devs and the community need to start thinking on how to increase adoption while not sacrificing #nostr ideals and still make it user friendly. This was a wake-up call and the rest of the #devs need to get out in front of this building redundancy in case this happens to them. I like the idea of PWAs, but we all need to keep brainstorming and developing multiple solutions.
If you want my opinion, the reason Damus got the boot is it represents competition to Apple Pay due to zap functionality. Have no way to prove it, but it's just a gut feeling I have.
Not a TOS violation if they don't know about it and you don't divulge details.
