I think as Bitcoiners and NOSTR users we are playing at the edges of FAFO 😂

Less so Bitcoin these days.

Thought:

The reason I prefer Instant messengers over email is IM's organise your discussions by threads, where as email is a chronological stream.

NOSTRs twitter like clients are like email.

Is their an argument to make a threaded client like an IM ?

All countries have great stuff and bad stuff.

You can either focus on the good or the bad, but dismissing any country because of the bad is a mistake.

Hopefully this is the correct NOSTR remote signer from nostr:npub16uvg7mx3l97z8phfesl8rxj2vf82vn82hp9daala0egj45ynr8mstn0vkc nostr:npub1c878wu04lfqcl5avfy3p5x83ndpvedaxv0dg7pxthakq3jqdyzcs2n8avm this time.

This keeps your private NOSTR key (nsec) separate so you shouldn’t need to copy and paste this critical private key into every application you use.

Think of it as the NOSTR equivalent to a Bitcoin hardware wallet.

The interesting thing for me is I only choose a side when I can see the other side is correct and valid and provides strong logical arguments.

Only at that point, where I accept the opposing argument, but still prefer my choice, do I settle on my choice.

Natives 😂

There is such a thing as observer bias.

There are Americans who hate America, there are Brits that hate Britain, there is an entire culturally range within any culture.

As an outsider you can never understand a system.

I am less of an outsider, but I am still one.

The great thing about the Internet and platforms like rednote is you get to hear people from the inside, all of them, across the whole spectrum.

Listen to the people you don't have affinity with or would not normally talk to, get a real sense of a place.

That would be my suggestion.

Here's more practical advice.

There are plenty of brilliant devs here, they are easy to find. Make contact with them, discuss the issues as you see it. Ask if they are interested in working with you on this problem.

Vibe code a crude solution yourself, see how it works.

Then apply to nostr:nprofile1qythwumn8ghj7ct5d3shxtnwdaehgu3wd3skuep0qyt8wumn8ghj7etyv4hzumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgtcqypu8xwr40lp96ewdj2fef408wy70gd3carf9n6xu7hrnhq6whpgly925h0z for a grant, the issue is strong enough that a strong proposal would almost certainly get funded.

Use that money to build a team, run it, guide it, focus it.

Have the time of your life creating something that is important and is going to change a part of the world.

I read the kindle version in 2016 (Amazon tells me 😂)

We owe Edward a lot, more than can ever be repaid.

I hope he's happy in Russia.

No, not that kind of ass 😂😂😂

Although I wouldn't mind 💜

I'm definitely old, but I'm pretty certain I'm not disillusioned, in fact the opposite.

I am definitely wise and I have an ass 😂

I have nothing to report today, except this note, which seems to think I've missed the point, which, ironically is exactly the point I was trying and failing to make to Matt.

They think I have an attitude (that's a first for that type of accusation) and they even think I'm annoyed, which is literally the opposite of being excited for the opportunity for Matt to build the system he wishes to see.

Unsuitable content is an issue on NOSTR and Matt had identified particular forms of it, but wanted somebody else to deal with it.

This is the normal response for centralised authoritarian systems, but we are different here. If you identify something you want, you make it happen.

You used to need to be a coder to do this, but AI vide coding has changed all that. We are all capable of building the systems we wish to see.

You can just do it.

I haven't missed the point at all, nor am I annoyed.

Isn't it interesting how your different view of the world can get things like this so completely wrong. I know you are wrong about this because you're trying to tell me about me and I am uniquely the authority on me.

I am not, however, the authority on you, so why don't you tell me what you think or understand or feel instead.

Because this, I do not know.

You care.

That is perhaps the point you are overlooking.

I cannot begin to explain the opportunity that awaits should you care enough to take action.

I am tempted to repost my previous response, but I think I’ll leave it there.

As a relay operator myself, I have spent more time discussing this than I care to.

I don’t care about the things you think I should care about, just as normies don’t care about Bitcoin and central platforms don’t care about decentralised protocols.

My suggestion, you seem to have a genuine argument and view that you alone care about.

As a former very successful entrepreneur and then investor. That’s generally how entrepreneurs become successful, by pursuing these things when others don’t care to.

We’re over a quarter of the way to the halving 😂
