Holy shit ๐ฑ
I'm not actually talking about Bitcoin debit cards.
I'm talking about fiat debit / credit cards.
We shouldn't be replicating this shit onto Bitcoin.
THIS IS NOT THE WAY
Same argument as JPEGs on Bitcoin, if it's going to happen anyway, I might as well not bother to do anything.
Debit card fees are normally cheaper for the merchant than credit card fees. Cash is free, although some banks charge merchants to deposit cash these days and other countries are making large amounts of cash illegal.
We're supposed to be the good guys, changing the system for the better, not ambivalent to it.
6% of $1M is $60,000
6% of your $4 coffee is $0.24
They look different, but they are the same.
The money men have got hold of Bitcoin, we getting Greshamโs Law ๐โโ๏ธ
That is their revenue/other stuff.
Card companies charge merchants monthly fees and transaction fees which is their earnings and profit which some split with their card users.
We're playing the same games with Bitcoin we already play with fiat:
Stop it, stop it now.
That cash back is coming from the merchants who are being screwed by the card companies on your behalf.
I asked my wife to stop using her Amex because they are the worse, but all card companies do it.
2% may not sound like a lot, but on $1M worth of sales, a medium size shops annual turnover, that's $20,000, which is the salary for a junior sales assistant.
I reposted in nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 cos nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg fails often ๐ก
This is why NIP-05 is so important and a powerful tool.
nostr:npub1pd4djv2jmgm8r4uu8m4eu0xlr9eu0vxflamvv5aapjep67s0qq7q8wvu6l sent me a DM asking if I'd be interested in advocating
for them.
I asked them to verify their NOSTR account either with a domain hosted NIP-05, which I describe how to setup here:
https://habla.news/u/mhardcastle@nostrplebs.com/1727086778883
Or verify by email from their official domain.
They fabricated an email and tried to pass it off as genuine ๐
This is the original DM and the mail header which contains the
fake mail header service:

Iโm having a chat to nostr:npub1heqkxm37d5h7n8sx2gqdez5sxnu39qrylhxnnd66dxpu4e2ufyysdkkx28 tomorrow about Iran if you like to tune in.
Being nostr:npub1eaz6dwsnvwkha5sn5puwwyxjgy26uusundrm684lg3vw4ma5c2jsqarcgz I canโt post the address until we go live
14 years ago, Max & Stacy reporting on Bitcoin:
It was supposed to be lit already ๐
When the engineer turned up, he said it may take an hour or so to get connected, but changed his tune after he couldn't get a valid light source.
I suspect you're right, they probably forgot to connect up their end ๐
There's me thinking that fibre optic Internet would work at light speed...
My new full fibre ISP Gigaclear are suspiciously silent since they failed to connect up the fibre on their end yesterday.
I suspect I am the first in my village to sign up and they are experiencing teething troubles ๐
I think I have that lamp, it came flat packed from Ikea ๐
I know ๐
Turns out they were right tho:

Being Scottish means she doesn't spend my Sats much, which is great ๐
I think nostr:nprofile1qyx8wumn8ghj7cnjvghxjmcpz4mhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejqqgzn9kpsmllqnsf7wh5tz3wgy4cclsftqqplv8tpayrhwgw8llunevgnmdf3 ought to hire balding, unfit, middle aged inflooencers to promote them, so that customers focus on the products not the presenter.
I am available for a modest fee ๐
My wife has only seen him in his jungle videos with his top off.
I'd prefer she never meet him IRL ๐
The ability to talk directly to the developer for an app on NOSTR still amazes me ๐
Yeh, I'm not certain you got my point ๐ ๐ ๐
I'm not certain these kind of posts are healthy for Bitcoin, Saylor or Strategy ๐โโ๏ธ

I'm playing with nostr:nprofile1qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uq3zamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wwa5kuef0qqsv73dxhgfk8tt76gf6q788zrfyz9dwwgwfk3aar6l5gk82a76v9fgfngn5a and going try a live podcast, probably Friday at 9am (10am CEST).
I'd like to understand Iran from a locals perspective, so have asked nostr:nprofile1qyshwue69uhh2mtzwfjkctn5v95kcepkx3snvtn5wvhxuet58g6rsdpcqy2hwumn8ghj7etyv4hzumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgqpqheqkxm37d5h7n8sx2gqdez5sxnu39qrylhxnnd66dxpu4e2ufyysfwdrqd to join me.
GM
Despite the failure to deliver fibre Internet yesterday, I still plan to go live with nostr:nprofile1qyshwue69uhh2mtzwfjkctn5v95kcepkx3snvtn5wvhxuet58g6rsdpcqy2hwumn8ghj7etyv4hzumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgqpqheqkxm37d5h7n8sx2gqdez5sxnu39qrylhxnnd66dxpu4e2ufyysfwdrqd tomorrow morning to discuss Iran, it's history and culture.
It's my first podcast, so lots of things will go wrong, so if you like comedy or culture, we'll have something for you.
But itโs got to be the Bitcoin โBโ, not just any old โBโ ๐ฑ
๐
You're very sophisticated ๐ซ

Shoes,
I'd like to have the Bitcoin "B" branded onto the soles of the shoes I hand down to the next generation, as was the custom with the British upper classes back in the day.
No fibre Internet for me today, the AI has spoken ๐ฅบ

It's our 20 year wedding anniversary next month ๐
We had online dating back then, which is how I met my wife.
I had admin privileges on the site.
Even I'm not adverse to a little corruption now and again ๐
I can't, I signed an 18 month contract ๐ฑ
What fibre installation engineers?
They sure are a cult, they convince you to join their service and fail to deliver anything of value ๐
That is the pure definition of a cult in my book.
Don't make jokes like that, our AI overlords wouldn't like it ๐
