Building software in fintech | Bitcoin and Lightning Network | Exploring the future of finance

I honestly don’t get why humility seems so rare these days.

I mean, the goal should be pretty clear, right? A cozy, safe home, comfortable safe car, living healthy, having kids… all that. But at the same time, wouldn’t you want to keep it low-key and not be out there grabbing attention?

It feels like most people I see are doing the exact opposite. Some even go as far as giving up comfort, safety, and privacy just for more attention.

Even in the Bitcoin space now, I see people bragging about their holdings and talking how many sats they’re trying to stack. Back in the day, we had “boating accidents” instead.

What’s going on with that?

I miss IRC the most. Never liked Reddit , though.

Twitter used to be okay, somewhat.

Interesting. I have been using creatine for many years, and whenever I take a break for a week or so, I don't notice much difference except for my muscles losing a bit of water.

Does it make a significant difference for you during these days you don’t take the creatine?

Spot on. I'd also mention that people often overthink the training process, which usually leads to them either never starting or giving up quickly.

I would swap out ecash for LN and drop Signal - Nostr will eventually handle that use case.

But indeed, what a time to be alive!

More or less the same. I didn't even consciously decide to stop using Twitter. I just naturally stopped once I realized that people online can actually be cool.

I also believe that people compare bitcoin to Nostr too directly. In the bitcoin network, it's essential for every participant to have a full copy of the ledger and be able to verify every transaction. However, when it comes to information, in my opinion, the most important feature is its ability to spread freely. Some might run big specialized relays, while others may run smaller, personal backups. As long as information can flow freely, that is more than enough.

One key issue worries me. Could there be a two-key standard (one hot and one cold)? With such approach, if your hot key is hacked (since it’s stored within apps), you could use the cold key (stored in a secure hardware device) to generate a new hot key and somehow invalidate all the posts or actions made since the moment the hacking occurred.

I have been using ghee for years now, and it tastes so much better than anything else.
