Do you know about musescore? It was a community tool that let users digitalize sheet music and publish it. They have lots of great public domain sheet music that used to be available.

But... they paywalled it all. And I'm suspicious to weather the creators are getting any compensation.

We would need another place for uploading public domain sheet music that isn't going to be paywalled by the servers due to a simple change of mind. Maybe #nostr could help us on this ^^

It was mostly nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm. I just helped them from a Client's perspective and built the first use of it. :)

The beauty of open-source!

I be fair, nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm and #Amethyst had to create nwc.dev to get Nostr apps to use lightning in a sane way. If it was hard for small teams to work with Lightning just imagine how hard it is for large corporations full of middle managers. I wouldn't want to be there.

ahhh so that was an alby amethyst co-op, cool

Email rules!

I would like to see some more nostr / email interoperability! Maybe even nostr based emaildomains of some kind.

Brave on android. Trying to use the PWA versions of the apps :)

wish I coule try, but I always get stuck on load after having approved the connection in nsec.app

I'm guessing stability in these systems is still under development

I would be interested in some email / #nostr interoperability.

Any ideas on forwarding ip adresses over #nostr? Could be potentially replace the centralized parts of the DNS system?

In the end we the demos decide. We just have to talk and inform our peers and in the long run that will out weigh insider elitistic decrees.

haha indeed!

There are however some suggested deep connections between gravity and thermodynamics. Entropic gravity, I think it is called. And is derived through Einsteins field equations.

But it isn't my specialty to know about ^^

A couple of years ago in Sweden there was a horse meat scandal where a TV-dinner company somehow "accidentally" loaded up their machines with horse meat xD

It all went down horribly for them once the news got out.

I think #freespeech depend more on the social fabric than laws. There has always been more levels of free speech among loved ones in all kind of societies than in public and in peer-groups.

Even at places in time where censorship laws where at their most prohibitive, people have managed to plan their escapes together with loved ones. And in many border crossings even succeeded to break free.

When living in a place with good legal protections and principles for freespeech, the social fabric can still hold things back. We get self-censorship. A kind of fear, of what the peer group might think.

One solution here is to instill individual stoicism. Although powerful, it's not more scalable than whatever ammount of people would find that appealing to instill in themselves.

Another solution, way more natural, scalable and fun! Is to boost the social fabric and involve yourself in more than one peer-group. This is also easier to encourage people to do, since we are built to be social and actually like it once we get going. Being diverse over multiple peer-groups, will ground you more. Let you see more perspectives, and protect you by letting you relax in another place in case of temporary drama in another group (which can happen).

And on top of all this, you'll help tie the social fabric in society together in the most healthy way. You actually provide, by just partaking. Like a dance floor, the more the better!

Engage in multiple activities, I would recommend at least two outside if family and work. Do it with love and out of interest. You'll get to know more people, and they will get to know you. It's all a beautiful way of life. Btw, everyone doesn't have to become your best friend of life.

I think it would even be a way of organically spread #nostr into lots of situations as well. Because if you read this, you use nostr and wherever you go: nostr goes ;)

If you read this and coincidentally happens to just have solved for fusion reactors, proven the Riemann Hypothesis or similar; do consider #nostr as your initial and primary place of publishing your work.

It would be fun :)

I think people are more at ease forking MIT licensed projects. Even when going open-source, it just feels better to not have to think about the restrictions of GPL.

what's the best cross platform #nostr client? Something likely written in react native or flutter. And available on ios + android.

Appreciate it!

We'll publish our work publicly. So when we figured out how to well cooperate IRL local Communities, we want it available globally.

I just think it's a great environment to experiment in, to involve a Uni Campus into this

If you build the tools, I'll bring the people. At the moment I'm in the start up phase of a nostr community group at the Royal Institute of Science #KTH in Stockholm Sweden.

I'm having a lecture planned, and we may get some resources to have the university run a Relay.

The plan is to engage both campus student sub communities and the faculty & Uni operations.

The most important tools I'm researching now are things similar to facebook events, discord groupchats and general noticeboards for info. Plz. link me relevant resources on this :)

Exciting work, that I think is as a good start as any! Internet grew and developed at universities, nostr can traverse these "pastures" as well.

I'll get back to #nostr on this if any external funding is needed, and people are interested in supporting such efforts.

Just wait until we automate #AI out of its job, then it'll know!

I would argue that it's already the case that nostr is the gateway ^^

I can recommend friends nostr and they start using it. Then they get interested in what zaps are!

The otherway around has had less of a success rate. Unless they already was btc-curious

Im interested in using the community invite links on Coracle as nostr onboarding. Didn't use them today because I don't think a new user would understand what happened. But the idea of it is nice!

Would be cool if they was asked to generate an account and then directly was within the community/group they where linked to. Like that would be very similar to how normies understand communities to work.

On boarding from "never used" into a "local community page" I think can be very powerful, over the never used to the global feed page. Then people could find ways to more easily organize locally, with nostr as a helping hand.

Might be worth doing. I'm looking into starting a local nostr community at the Royal Institute of Science #KTH in Stockholm. There are lots of programmers here, so it might be possible to engage some fellow students in building something suitable as a community project!

Thanks, I appreciate the reply :)

Ideally I'm looking for something where iPhone users and Android users can meet. Since I want to set up QR codes on campus and start organizing people via actual posters

Here are more details of what I'm looking for: nostr:nevent1qqsdgavxduf3l66h740tqdhxalhqjlywk6vsuslw9u0ymrlkxkdc7cgpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzvupzp7spvks0ryhmp6gu0kr3pet4wzkj0vm3tjjjrq0kc57fkgpnjurnqvzqqqqqqy604gcj

nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn I tested the group invite links to see if they could be good onboarding, and the generated QR lead me to this:

I think if possible it ideally would lead directly to the group. What I would like is to have a uni campus nostr group, and a QR sp people easily can join in on something new and in that group explain what nostr is etc and what we could do with it.

The basics are all here, but as far as a first time user is concerned this looks like a dead end. I think we could do something cool here!

Do we have any neat QR code #nostr onboarding tools? Like an easy sign up flow from QR into a part if the ecosystem the newbie will understand.

Did this with Facebook a couple of years ago, long before the nostr boom. It was kinda scary in the moment, but extremely liberating in the long run 🏃‍♂️

Haha, I get that there's a huge diff of fb & tlgrm but still. Moment of deletion always have a certain feeling to it, that I got reminded of here x)

"Yep, I don't think we got forking right yet. It's a more powerful tool, but it might not have been correctly implemented. :( "

nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z

Is there more going on in the backend than seen in the app? Where in the repo can I take a look at the forking process?

Maybe we want to store some backtracking data, like a git tree to the fork history of a note?

Out of pure #cybersecurity reasons, #nostr looks like a really good catch compared to whatever this is:

Can anyone explain or point me to a guide that shows how to use the nsec.app

I didn't find any clear instructions on how to use it and do something within a nostr app. Maybe I can figure this out in some extra 20 minutes if trying and testing; but it would be helpful I it had a grandma level instruction on how to, that was easily found on the website.

Wow, govFiat has lost about 40% in value against gold over a five year period. Crazy. Crypto going strong!

Alright, I'm gonna look into building a #nostr client. Been inspired by nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z, in my timeline for a long time.

Also, it was fun contributing to #Amethyst (one of my favorite nostr clients for android) and #coracle.social (my go to webb client for nostr).

Experiment and learn! That's the name of the game :)

If the day is a day when you just won't...

See if you as a second best can focus your energy on self maintenance and preparation for tomorrow.

I feel this would be a possible extra layer for those who want it in a nostr client as well. The community notes are open-source.

Maybe good for a news aggregator?
