I read this statement and realized, yes—the Fortean dominant has come for Steven Pinker.

Not in the way he says, but yes, the damned facts have become a flood. Random balls bouncing together, and that’s it, does not constitute the solid foundation of a university curriculum in this time.

Having a beard means sometimes having dry skin. nostr:npub19pj6f0nc9q6xr26qe3g8m6xe3hwe0d6p6zcvf57cm3kayghjdj0slnlenu suggested I try the beef tallow in our 'fridge. Been walking around wafting beef all day.

8/10 will not do this again. But maybe.

beef tallow …maybe doesn’t fix this?

thank you for your contribution! 👀

Wow! That is an incredible shot, like from a flying dream.

This is not an easy question to answer, there are so many! Among them all, I would love to have seen John Townsend of Newport, Rhode Island, working in his shop. (1733-1809)

In a sense, yes, but you have to have an alternative way to identify yourself when accessing gov buildings, nuclear facilities, or flying commercially, this is on the list: https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/identification

This example blew my mind. Zaha Hadid’s building for Beijing was copied in Chongqing and the copy was on schedule to beat the original to completion 😂 https://www.dezeen.com/2013/01/02/zaha-hadid-building-pirated-in-china/

When I was a kid my outdoor cat would disappear for a long while from time to time, I could tell you stories. He was too smart for his own good, but he survived. Loved that cat.

I’m stoked about this new collaboration between Demetri Kofinas and Grant Williams. They are publishing it free through both their platforms. No subscription required. https://fountain.fm/episode/rrnOUyz6B0cs8zmPtsB7

After a few public earnings reports we’ll see what’s up for real.

here goes, an imperfect first attempt to put words to what is probably an undefinable quality of being, summarized glibly as the concept gratitude:

embracing the present as a gift from all the acts and circumstances of self + others that came before, and offering that gift again and again to both self and others moving forward
