DeepSeek read the logs from the NinjaOne RMM agent that was uninstalling itself immediately after installing. It saw the relevant line and pointed out the problem, allowing me to fix it without contacting support.
DeepSeek is currently embarrassing the heck out of western AI with open source reasoning models too, including explanations of how to apply their magic to existing foundation models. And doing it with way less GPU compute.
There will be a lot of jobs available in agriculture, meat packing, construction, cleaning and landscaping soon.
This article presents some evidence for it being at least partly related to signal vs noise between the pre-frontal cortex and visual cortex. Fascinating indeed. https://aphantasia.com/article/science/shocking-insights/
I don't miss working in healthcare IT, HIPAA is a joke. But it looks like you got the notification faster than some of my bills and claims.
Welcome. Have you heard about aphantasia?
Perhaps it is an nostr:nprofile1qqsyv47lazt9h6ycp2fsw270khje5egjgsrdkrupjg27u796g7f5k0spzemhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejz7qgwwaehxw309ahx7uewd3hkctcprdmhxue69uhkummnw3ez6vfwde3x7tnpdenkzmnf9e3k75xqss4 issue at the moment. Anyone else having issues?
Working here with my own alby hub.
We're finally getting some (slightly) below-freezing temperatures here. I thought it would be interesting to see what happens to a finished compost pile that's left to sit instead of turning it into a storage bin.

Blue is the air temperature and brown is the temperature inside the middle of the compost pile. The life in the pile is maintaining the temperature above ambient, but ambient temperature changes do eventually affect it over time. The Soil Food Web School recommends that compost mature like this for at least 6 months, so I'm going to keep monitoring through winter and into spring.
Also nice to see that the battery has held out for over 5 weeks so far. I was replacing it every 2-3 weeks to avoid having any gaps in data.

The music is really appropriate for this war criminal parade.
Alleged start of the Eaton fire. Power lines.

Residents stating brush was not cleared: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlqJcu9VDBc
Some speculative evidence that Pallisades fire was also power lines: https://cliffmass.blogspot.com/2025/01/where-and-how-did-palisades-fire-start.html
Finally, some progress. Developing for Home Assistant is harder than I expected.

If you don't see the + icon in Amber, make sure you haven't accidentally installed the offline version of Amber.
Family in Altadena lost everything. House burned to the ground, nothing left but the fireplace. Everyone is safe but all they took with them were passports.
DeepSeek v3 has been working fairly well so far.

I was having trouble figuring out how to sign into Olas without pasting my nsec into it. My mistake was installing the "offline" version of Amber. It doesn't have the + icon on the application page, which is how you create an nsecbunker.
I updated the nostr notification provider in Uptime Kuma (fancy self-hosted monitoring tool):

Now it supports relays that require AUTH like auth.nostr1.com.

If you haven't checked the news this year yet.. I recommend waiting until at least 2028.
