As concerning as this indeed is, it’s also nothing but a promotion of nostr. That governments think that they have the right to eavesdrop on absolutely any conversation that people have peer-to-peer is so full on authoritarian that begs belief. Totally dystopian.
Congratulations, Vitor!
Yeah, same here with iOS. Can receive zaps but have to zap others from an external wallet, which makes the zap entirely disconnected from the nostr note.
Not happy about that.
True! But for a president, I rather have someone with the homework done.
Nocoiner. Hands down. He still can learn. An altcoiner will never.
This is not having balls, this is having no shame. I would say.
No politician nowadays can be trusted during elections. They would go anywhere and say anything to capture some votes.
Anyone fancy spending the summer in Andalusia and sharing accommodation?? 3 bedrooms, €900/month

... but there is many more!
Have you ever been in Andalucía in summer? Not to discourage anyone, but it’s scorching hot. I mean above 40 C (104 F). It’s ok for a few days if you are visiting, but I wouldn’t spend there a whole summer.
Just watched it. Absolutely fascinating! Thanks for sharing it.
Made my day! 🤣
Not sure about this logic. Your container ship uses a very powerful engine to defy Nature which otherwise will crash it against the rocks. The ship might float, but would hardly get anywhere without a Nature defying engine. 🤔
I feel that so far in #Bitcoin, #Nostr, and the #Pears stack we’ve had a strong focus on two things:
• User facing wallets, app, and features
• And fundamental network design and implementation
However, there are drawbacks to what we’ve focused on: The fundamental network development is critical, but isn’t understood and doesn’t interact well with the end user. While the end user wallets and services often have huge trade offs and rely on third parties or custodians.
We have basically let the market for centralized companies work to bridge between these two areas of development and demographics of the community.
But as has been shown with recent arrests and the fear rippling through public service providers, I think it’s critically important that we start focusing on building tools to BE a service provider, that are as simple and easy to operate as the end user wallets have been designed.
The barrier is still too large between the end UX and the core tools of these environments.
For example, we need to think about how we can design an interface that lets anyone with a couple of BTC be a private LSP, automatically, with channel splicing, and try at lets users connect to and use them in popular wallets with nothing but a QR. This would radically change the landscape if “running a server” is as easy as we can possibly make it. This would be the key to genuine decentralization of the market and the ability to quietly make a huge variety of reliable and simple services and onboarding tools that aren’t bug, public, and easily targeted businesses.
It would open up an entirely new layer of the market that is never actually targeted and with tradition infrastructure, isn’t really possible. But the new protocols we have today change this. We need to change how we think about the architecture of the market when we have new tools that, rather than simply building the same things with new tools, allow us to completely rethink how things are built in the first place.
Recently piece from nostr:npub1dtgg8yk3h23ldlm6jsy79tz723p4sun9mz62tqwxqe7c363szkzqm8up6m is a great example. IMO, It’s time we think about UX for sovereign providers the way we’ve always thought about UX for the average user.
Exactly 🎯
If we make running a server for decentralized services as easy as running a bitcoin node, this will be unstoppable.
I’m not very technical but found running a node on a raspberry pi pretty easy. I want to upgrade to something like a srtart9 to be able to run properly more decentralized services, like a nostr relay, but I fear my lack of knowledge/experience on that front will get in the way.
Make it easy and with easy to set up default configurations, and more people will join.
Fuck Fiat! I’m beyond mad right now.
I’ve been using Transferwise (now Wise) for years to send money to my mom in my country of origin once in a while. I was actually very pleased with their services, and I even used the Wise debit card on my last trip to Europe, and it worked very well.
But now, I was about to send just $500 to my mom again and they are asking me to take a fucking picture of my driving license or my passport and a fucking selfie “for identity verification”!!!
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK??!!!! Is this how it is going to be from now on? They already have all the info about me they need; I even linked my checking account to Wise a long time ago and have 2FA activated. They definitely know me. But this is now not enough???
Fuck that, fuck fiat and fuck banks. I don’t know any Bitcoiner in my city of origin to help my mom out. Otherwise, I would send her Bitcoin. I will have to find another way, but I definitely not going to go through all these stupid, unnecessary and DANGEROUS loops just to send a few bucks.
FUCK THAT!
Best and simplest might not be totally compatible, but connecting my sparrow wallet to my umbrel node was a piece of cake. Once this said, I’m thinking of upgrading to an start9 OS based solution, probably on an old Mac I have laying around.
Where is this clip taken from? Seems part of a longer video.
