Could we use cryptography to address this issue? Maybe in a similar manner as in nostr?

Sort of. My problem with this is rather how fast rules and definitions can change when the politicians need this. Sure, just declare the whole country Ukraine no man‘s land and send troops there. Strictly, if these troops get eliminated, no NATO territory has been attacked. Very clean and elegant.

Absolutely. Reminds me of Macron saying the vaxx wouldn't be mandatory...

However, What I don't nderstand is how France can invite itself in a conflict against Russia without it being an explicit declaration of war, with all the consequences that would ensue, and I'm sure that the majority of French understands this.
