How would physics define a peer to peer electronic cash system?

It is based on Proof of Work a cyber security concept that gives an electronics cash system also works hope

yes

that ship has sailed

I try to read it at least once a year. It’s amazing how much more I learn every time I read it.

Monero is so much closer to the original goals of Bitcoin. If Satoshi was still active, I have a feeling he would be an avid XMR advocate.

Nah. XMR is less scalable. Bitcoin has privacy in payment layers & no risk of inflation bugs. Money tends toward one.

Yes there are ways to make Bitcoin transactions slightly more private but they're not inherently private like Monero's are.

Also XMR doesn't suffer from inflation, just tail emissions.

Tail emission is a massive bug, this means there is no cap and there is no way to know how much is in circulation. The proof is in the footing

Tail emission isn't a bug it's intentional for mining security. Bitcoin is taking a risk that tx fees alone will be adequate and consistent enough to pay miners once block subsidy runs out. Tail emission is less inflation than gold which has been a money for thousands of years. You can run a node or add up block rewards (they're transparent when first mined) to know how much Monero is circulating.

Hal said from the get go, would be impossible to fit every micro tx on chain, allow it bro

SOV was always a helpful by product.

Really though, really? I’m not saying you’re wrong but can there really only be one? Wasn’t BTC just the beginning?

This begs the question - of what exactly?

Bitcoin has always felt very punk but at the same time an act of selflessness, a generous gift.

With this in mind the technology was born and intentionally shared to be interpreted by others.

I would argue it was shared from a place of openness and without fear.

These alt coins may feel far from the original spirit of Bitcoin but I can’t imagine Satoshi creating something like this and not expecting the world to take it upon themselves to reinterpret it.

I can’t pretend to know what the original intent of what Bitcoin was meant to be.

But Bitcoin feels like something that’s meant to keep moving energetically, to be utilized of course but also shared and most importantly never hoarded, rather spent freely.

I think I can see that spirit happening here with Nostr but so far it’s just a feeling - not obvious. But I’m still learning, and am willing to be patient and open to hearing other perspectives.

Because of this text

I saw, for the first time.

a purpose in my life that wasn’t bound by permissions, borders, or rules set by others.

Thank you, Satoshi🗽

Thank you nostr:nprofile1qqsgydql3q4ka27d9wnlrmus4tvkrnc8ftc4h8h5fgyln54gl0a7dgspzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wvh8xmmrd9skcqgkwaehxw309aex2mrp0yh8qunfd4skctnwv46qddtc35 This is more than money, it’s the restoration of human dignity through code.

Did you know that Satoshi build bitcoin backwards? He did the code first to see if it would work then created the white paper...

When we make investment in stocks , we always need middle man such as third party payment system

Like Revolut or moon pay or whatever . It would be nice if I can buy stocks through my Satoshi wallet without having to use middle man . 😂

Imagine someone can owned stocks just to provide email address .

That’s freedom for everyone to do

Investment 🩷

Here's a great book to add to your list:

We have that one on Nostr, as well, in its entirety. In the King James and the Douay-Rheims versions.

Here's the Pentateuch, in plain-text:

Hehe

Have you reevaluated your stance on the block size limit?

It seems impossible to onboard billions of people to lightning and other second layers without an increase, am I wrong?

Blocks

Monero it is.

The problem. Payment systems have advanced to a degree that Bitcoin and Monero once on the forefront of the digitalisation of money now seem ancient and clunky to normies and they really are if people give a fuck about privacy and self-sovereignty.

Governments buying SBR are stabilising their currencies giving the normie's no reason to look for "dated" and still volatile coins no matter how private or decentralised they may be.

Thing is... Is it still?

What would be your take on blockwars and Monero?

Is the sky blue? You’re either on the spectrum or on good drugs my friend.

Bitcoin is working just as it is intended to work.

It is decentralized secure and still p2p. You got people out here shilling solana which has been hacked twice but trying to knock the king of all kings the only thing that matters.

🧡😘

yes. ergo: if you stop texting open source peer-to-peer in favour of pooled THIRD PARTY PRIVATE TEAMS (*darling*) and gatekeep user data - the system collapses. which we are on the precipice of and you are still ignoring me. so.

True jack! Satoshi is the king 👑

I think will go to a tattoo studio and ask to get it on my back 😱

Zero trust protocol at individual level is the best way to build absolute trust at a societal scale.

p2p electronic cash needs cheap fees and easy privacy.

Agree

abstract action

woah meow

Within p2p payments imho the most asymmetric opportunities for Bitcoin at this stage are micropayments and “megapayments” eg very small or larger than average transactions which are often hard, slow, insecure, complex and sometimes impossible (eg sending 1c, or sending a remittance instantly) with fiat rails - and most importantly often unavailable to the unbanked.

I was just reading that last night that’s funny going through all the emails too

Nothing #Bitcoin #Only

Thank you Satoshi

I've seen a lots of post on X complaining that nostr:nprofile1qqsgydql3q4ka27d9wnlrmus4tvkrnc8ftc4h8h5fgyln54gl0a7dgspp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqpxdmhxue69uhkuamr9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wshkz7tkdfkx26tvd4urqctvxa4ryur3wsergut9vsch5dmp8pese6nj96 own companies have not enable Lightning or bitcoin payment. Were there any good reasons he advocate for MOE but does not practice them in his companies?

It was over my head.
