So, people want an option to share location on Amethyst. How should we do this? I am concerned users might not know the dangers of it. Maybe we do zip code precision as default?

As others have noted it should be off by default. But I can see it being useful for things like posts with pretty pictures when you're on vacation.
One approach would be to gather data (stored locally) that figures out locations where the person often is and have a "Are you sure?" prompt if they're in one of those locations. It's one thing to geotag a post in a place where you rarely are. It's another one to geotag a post with your home location.

I've spent the last 4 years building a location sharing application called yondar.me that allows you to PRIVATELY share your location with others.
The lack of critical thought behind this idea to add automatic location doxxing to Amethyst is so astonishing that I'm 2 seconds away from uninstalling my favorite Android client.
Posting your personal location to a public and un-deletable network is just a bad idea. There is no legitimate reason why anyone would do this. Other social apps allow you to share your current location, but those networks are not the same architecture as nostr. Unless you are using an encrypted chat, there is no access control for your content. People seem to forget that everything you do on nostr is not only public but permanent. Revealing your location in this context is suicide.
Would be cool to have a feed with people close, but for that it zip code is way to fine-grained.
Worked with maps before, any assumption you make about zip codes will break somewhere.
Maybe some GPS coordinate grid, easiest could be to remove some digits at the end of the coordinated.

强制堆叠功能当然不行，但是若是可选的呢？
像较大争议的 #NIP94 和 #NIP95 图片功能，这些都是堆叠功能，但是其并不强制必须使用，想继续用原来的简单图床模式加载图也是可以的，只是多了一些选择以用于特殊场景。
再例如 #ZAP 打赏增加了一些新隐私模式，也是可选切换用哪种模式，能默认继续原来的公开模式。
虽然微博的『每条微博或评论附加：省份或国家』，引起了很多的批评。但是我觉得关键在于其没有给用户这堆叠功能是否开启的选择，而强制全部开启。若让用户自己选择是否开启定位，那么会好很多。想保护位置隐私的，不喜欢的不开启定位即可，并不强制。
假设未来叠加了全部的微博及推特甚至微信朋友圈等等几乎全部的机制特性，却又几乎都是可定制，可自主决定任何模块的开启关闭，完全自己掌控，难说这不是一个成功的好产品。

Fair. I haven't personally experienced that but I'm aware others may have. Just mindful of the incredible effort and dedication that has gone into making the app and no one is perfect all the time. He has a main business that was caught up in the svb saga and lost some $$ I believe.

But you messed up...
1) you wanted to go at this alone at the expense of photo incompatibility. Vibes brought down. People mad. Community STOPPED growing because "the apps aren't loading photos from amethyst".
2) you aren't focusing on what is FUN and AWESOME about this that could catch contagion and go viral.
The backend fighting and stuff should happen privately. And not at all even.
If you don't listen to and work with others - main people and early users - you will not only be unsuccessful, but will ruin a bit about Nostr in the process.
Go at this alone and you'll fail.
Turn your ship and attitude around, appologize to developers you threw shade at and be humbled.
This does have shades of Bitcoin Cash. Stick to the ideas that are cool and help them grow. Protect them. Be a leader. You need to work with people not against them.
