Which LLM provider(s) are you using? What gives the best results? Is there any priority to make sure ollama performs well? Because it still seems rather slow compared to the commercial APIs.
I’ve been using LibreChat for this non-IDE workflow… because you can use it as a webapp from your phone when self-hosting! So cool… vibe coding from the phone, terminal access and MCPs in my pocket.
I’d totally use Goose if it that were possible. Sometimes it’s nice to drown out the code and just vibe.

How much time/work do you put into each prompt? I go back and forth between long detailed requests and iterative conversations. Still trying to get an intuition for when to use each approach.
This is fascinating. I used to tell my students to read papers and implement the theory as code. Sometimes, this was even the very first implementation of the math people had written up years ago.
Today, I can give an agent a few papers or even let it to do the research itself and come up with a first implementation of the research to see if the idea is worth pursuing or not. It does a better job than most students would.
The learning experience for the student from doing the actual work is missing here – and it can't be replaced – that much is clear. But from a pure research planning perspective, this unlocks a whole new paradigm for exploring new ideas.

Build an app a day to keep the devs away.
I got curious and tried out the tool because you can use it with a custom provider. After a little bit of testing it seems to work well, but holy does using it burn through tokens fast. With just a few queries asking it about a repo to test it out, nothing even requiring it to write, compile, or test code I burned through 50 cents using Sonnet 4.
I could easily burn through a minimum of $20 in a day.
I'll probably have to stick with Aider for now. I still like reading the patches the LLM is applying and keeping myself more in the loop.

I thought it was a limitation of Qwen's orchestration capability, given its size.
