I think that this angle makes a lot more sense and a typographic logo is more likely to work... bitcoin has the honey badger but i don't think the ostrich really has the personality to match this protocol

much more appropriate would be blackbirds or canaries or crickets or some other animal that gossips all the time

i don't even know what sound an ostrich makes but these long-necked birds are scary motherfuckers and not very talkative and then when they start to talk you better hope you are out of reach of neck distance

I use nostr all day err day but don’t prefer the gpt gen nostrich art. I am on board with a simple ostrich logo. I’m a design purist.

'is NOT an ostrich' sounds like a self out to me

Is a nostr logo needed? Strikes me as a very centralised thing to want, which doesn’t fit in with Nostr ethos at all. If it’s for a client or service then that’s different of course.

Client logos, I could not care less what someone decides on. It’s their product. But it is pretty ballsy and odd to claim that “people” are asking for this as a general use Nostr logo and then not identify them. I have not seen talk of this. I highly doubt “people” are clamoring for this. I suspect there are one or two individuals who prefer not to use the ostrich imagery. That’s their prerogative. Do what they want. But don’t pretend it’s something that the people want.

This is my gut reaction too. Coming across as somewhat self-appointed.
