9 hours in to a 72 hour fast.. already extremely hungry. 😂😂😂. It will leave. It’s just hunger. It’s not real. My body has plenty of reserves to keep me going and in fact, thrive under duress. It’s just your mind expecting that you should’ve eaten.. you don’t actually need to. From an evolutionary standpoint, imagine if we evolved to get weaker in a fasting state? We’d have been wiped off the planet. Having access to food 24/7 is a brand new phenomena as far as our bodies are concerned. Our bodies thrive under adversity, they have to! The discovery of autophagy won a noble prize in 2016. I encourage you to RESEARCH AUTOPHAGY and put your body into this state a few times a week, month or year. Rid your body of decaying cells, zombie cells, etc.

Dude.. I’ve tried.. I’ve realized I’m a water bitch. Picture William Wallace when I want to mentally torture myself.. fasting..combatting my own thoughts, etc… then I touch cold water and turn into a little baby bitch.

I need to work on it.

Cold water is hard af. Ive found I can only make myself do it during the middle hours of the day (no early morning). Maybe the sunlight plays a psychological role.

First one is the hardest, but it does get easier.

I’ve done lots of short fasts, not sure they should even be called this… less than 24hrs.

We started at 1 pm yesterday. nostr:npub14hlzw4sywt23drreaqs8ruf00dsrnnv5hfnyu49g2hpheq836umssur6nl and I. We hold eachother accountable.

I like to start fasts after 1 meal or 2 light meals. So I usually start somewhere in the 11-1 range. The final day of a prolonged fast plays tricks on me and I get very hungry so I don’t like it to be too long after morning until I break it. So this is what works best for me. Times are totally up to you.

I fast for 24 hours often, yes. I shoot for once a week. 48 hours i try for once a month. sometimes I’ll go a few weeks without fasting but I miss it, it’s addictive. I’m still a newbie overall, i only started fasting a year ago.. to that point i had never even done a 24 hour fast and I’m older than you’d think.

The mental clarity is unlike anything I get anywhere else. Especially after 24 hours. It’s special. It’s needed.

No, I’m not cranky, quite the opposite. I’m hungry, but peaceful. I still workout as I believe it’s import jet to let your body know you aren’t dying, you’re purging. You’re focused. Mind and body are connected. Let your body know why you are fasting. I tell my body to feast on impurities cause you’re getting nothing else. I think it listens.

Also, I swear by sparkling mineral water on prolonged fasts with Himalayan Sea Salt and a squeeze of lemon. It just feels right. Again, listening to my body but salted water tastes amazing on a prolonged fast. I’d NEVER drink it otherwise and I also don’t enjoy sparkling water AT ALL outside of fasting.

I’ll also have some black coffee.

Today I just made a treat, 😂😂😂. Shot of espresso, sparkling water, salt and lemon. It looks gourmet and tastes fantastic!! (Again, I’d never drink iced salted lemon coffee water if I wasn’t fasting)
