Must listened to Saifedean’s new podcast with Calley Means on fiat foods.

Since I read the fiat standard I’m really eager to learn about food and what I should eat instead of all the fiat junk.

Any recommendations for books about fiat food, what to eat and what not?

Really interested

Do you have a link to that podcast? have read his fiat book 🤙 very good book 📖

Fish, fruits and vegetables like Italian and Japanese people do. They live a lot, so they know a thing or two. If possible, live outside of the US at least part time.

Thanks for the advice

In a nutshell, eat whole, unprocessed foods, organic grass fed meat - preferably from a farm close to you and that you can visit. Lots of organic eggs. Lots of animal fats. Fermented foods that you make at home (kefir / sauerkraut). Reduce carbs to an acceptable level for you, try and limit grains. Limit alcohol or stop altogether if you can. Cut out all refined sugar and seed oils completely.

Then there is the water that you drink . . . That’s a whole other topic . .

I go buy my meat from a local farmer! I use already animal fats. Eat organic eggs. Try to reduce carbs, alcohol and sugar. But the sugar part is difficult in my opinion because it’s literally i everything.

Now I’m interested in the water part

If your water’s from a public source, filter and remineralize it.

I really need to get my ass up and do that also.

How about private companies selling water? Any better?

I guess your statement was on drinkable tap water, right?

I was talking about tap water but bottled water’s its own topic.

The prob with private companies seeking water is you often don’t know where it comes from.

I’d stick to mineral waters where they tell you the source (then need to research that source).

The other thing is water in plastic is no bueno.

Get a glass bottle or two and store your filtered/remineralized water in that.

true. Will do that effort and installation.

What is the guidance on mineral levels, etc. What do I need to tell the man, who can do the installation 😁🙏🏽

I get filtered water from the tap and add powdered magnesium, potassium, and sodium to the water when I drink it.

Depending on your individual needs, you can add others powdered vitamins/minerals as well. It’s worth getting your levels checked to see what you need so you don’t overdo it and also looking into how certain supplements affect other things.

Ie: magnesium depletes calcium

and vice versa, zinc depletes copper and vice versa, etc.

When getting these minerals from foods, typically they’re balance but soil, food, and water are largely devoid of nutrients nowadays compared to 50+ years ago.

I actually just received an order of powdered magnesium and potassium to do that very thing. I’ve found it’s a must if doing intermittent fasting.

Been drinking tap water in Berlin for ages ( which is "ok" I guess, not lethal, haha) and finally got a Berkey filter ... now I can't understand how I did without 🤷‍♂️

And also reverse osmosis - I’m no expert but my understanding is that this is the only way to remove hormones such as oestrogen from the water.

I think you’re right. I have RO filter under my sink so all water that comes out is filtered.

Also have a filter at the water supply line (not sure what kind, put in by my landlord).

Sounds like you are sorted in that department 👏

You’re right - sugar is in almost every packaged food. Avoid them. 10 day sugar detox and you won’t crave it anymore

Will do! Thanks for the amazing advice

No need for thanks - sounds like your on the right track and almost there. What the “Big Food” industry has done to the food supply is absolutely criminal!! Makes my blood boil. They are poisoning us in plain sight!

🫂

which carb sources you have for yourself?

Bananas? Any type of Quinoa?

How about buckwheat grains? At least better some most other wheat 🌾 forms I think?

I tend to stick to potato, sweet potato and occasionally rice. Again I’m no expert but this is what I have found to be best for me and my specific gut health / sugar level maintenance

Deep Nutrition by Dr Kate Shanahan

Thank you

Not sure if you have IG but that’s where I get all of my info from, there are some amazing people on there. I will say going to an Applied kinesiologist was the coolest experience I had regarding my own health. They do muscle testing to see what you may need to take out of your diet , along with seeing if you may have parasite, lingering secondary infections from maybe a viral cold ect. I’m a mom of four and have been down the health rabbit hole now for about 8 years.

Wow thank you for the advice! Going to look into it! 🫂
