One thing I can never quite make sense of is the fact that…

1. I have extremely strong beliefs

2. Many or most of the beliefs are out of step with modern culture

3. Holding these beliefs produce outsized results for me

4. Others claim to want outsized results

5. But if you share the beliefs that generate them people get upset

It’s a very confusing phenomenon

Same. 🍻

Why is this? I’m genuinely perplexed by it

One of us, one of us…

Haha in my case it’s ADHD. So it does work on me but then I just forget.

True irony, and a description to the perfect circle of life. The product of engineered technosocio control is the resistence to it.

For society to work the majority have to be followers. They will go with the consensus no matter how many times it hurts them because to them it is psychologically safer than being other sheeple calling them weird.

Vision and courage.

Very few people have vision.

And only a small minority of those have the courage to act in the face of ridicule and intimidation.

Most people would rather be wrong and accepted than risk being right and ostracized.

Yeah that rings true. Being socially ostracized feels at home to me. So much so that I get deeply uncomfortable when too many people are praising me.

I’m exactly the same.

Jip jip.

Most people struggle to think independently

Social Darwinism

🧡👊🏻☕️

Mostly due to the advertising industry.

This is so real.

Anything unique in how you were raised?

That usually separates us from the pack!

A bit lol nostr:note1y4msmfjd5p46rce7tnapg8me0uuphad5sklzkmjkx9fcjcgz60gq4xyfgu

Aw man I'm in tears for everything you've been through. And your wife. She must be such an amazing woman as well.

I think you know why you're so different from the rest. You never lived the lie they push on us. That everything is fine and everything just magically works out. You saw how broken the world and people can be and you make active rather than passive choices.

You must be a really wonderful, generous, and strong person. 💜

I try to be, not saying I always succeed lol but I do try

Trying is more than most people do!

very much the same. been that way since childhood…

Are you dyslexic by chance?

I am, I had to find many mechanisms to compensate and try to keep up, which caused me to think far outside the normal perspective so that’s what I contributed to.

even told my therapist that.

Not dyslexic but I have ADHD which I also consider my superpower

My oldest daughter is dyslexic, and her out of the box thinking makes me so proud 🥹 and I’m always amazed at how much BS she can see through - she is more based than most adults. I was born in the Matrix; she is a child of Zion.

Have you seen https://reader.bionic-reading.com/ It's surprisingly effective at helping the brain read words.

Thanks I’ll check it out!

No pain, no gain, I reckon.

I am lucky to have cultivated 3 knowledgeable people irl with whom I can discuss Bitcoin. The rest will just have to catch up, because their mainstream media-informed FUD frustrates me, and my enthusiasm annoys them.

3 is the perfect number. I also got my mom, dad and (ex)partner. It's all I need on the life boat.

My brother's still on the Titanic so I'm working on knocking him off the railing.

People are lazy, envious, and prideful. They want to have what they see others have, but they don’t want to do what it takes to get there, and they don’t want to face the truth that they have been wrong.

Because most people want to get big results quickly, rather than slowly, so they feel uneasy.

Few want to do the work or blaze the trail.

Many want to be good sheep.

Stepping out of conventional line is too uncomfortable for some.

For me it was that I had to deal with how violence works to uphold the world I grew up in and treasured, which for many goes against what they think their morals are which in turn makes it hard to face. Once I realized the role of violence in our current structure, bitcoin became a necessity to live closer my stated values.

Care to share these beliefs?

I wouldn’t know where to start. There are so many lol I have no shortage of very strong opinions.

Here are 3 just off the top of my head

1. You should have most of your net worth in bitcoin

2. Abstaining from having children when you are healthy and capable of conceiving will lead to a profoundly sad and meaningless existence in 99.99% of cases.

3. Always trust your gut no matter what.

Have you thought about documenting these, at least for yourself and maybe your family, in something as simple as a text file?

I’m a little out of practice on reading and updating mine, but I have a doc that is my Credo…

It lists these types of beliefs and valuable quotes I come across.

Just something to think about. Ways for you to create value for yourself and your family.

I’ll think about it. Currently I just remember everything.

People get really stuck in their own paradigm and fight to keep it in tact if anything threatens it. It is a form of self preservation but it is really a trap that keeps you from growing and achieving greater things. People want to believe they can achieve great things but most are too comfortable staying in their own self imposed belief system.

Love the second one

it should not be confusing.

The paths that are trod by many have few opportunities. The blueberries are already picked.

The paths trod by few have many more opportunities.

A frame of mind is type of path.

“It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”Jiddu Krishnamurti

1. You measure your beliefs strongly

2. You are not well adjusted

3. You are extremely healthy

4. Everyone wants to be healthy

5. No one wants to believe they are a part of a profoundly sick society

van you detail number one: What are tour strong beliefs ?

your*

Unpopular beliefs give you the best return for effort/money/time *because* they're unpopular. If they were popular, then you'd have no edge. But they're unpopular, so people will get upset at you sharing them because you disagree with them, usually about something that's fundamental to their identity.

I find that it's not worth reacting to those people that get upset. In fact, it's probably good for them to get upset because that's an early touchpoint for another way to think about things. Enough of those and they'll change. It might take years though.

Belief-change is a long game. And as Bitcoiners we should get used to that.

Great insights. The herd has been conditioned to fear and distrust those who would tip over the apple cart of conventional wisdom. When unconventional thoughts are shared, I've found that the masses love to throw out the conspiracy theorist label, regardless of the facts or logic supporting the belief. IOW, the herd is easily frightened... and herded.

💯

Non-consensus/right is the biggest lever.

I'm no adonis, but everyone knows if you get into the damn gym and lift some weights you'll be prettier, yet few. Humanity is a fractal of failure of finite volume but infinite silver lining.

A great book that deals with a society that has gone awry and how it deals with unconventional beliefs like you've described is The Giver. This book blew my mind and helped me deal with and understand the cultural insanity that was covid. I found it very insighful and therapeutic for living in an unhealthy society that shuns wrong think.

Extremely strong beliefs require self confidence and courage, things that most people today lack of. 🫡

Forces people to confront the hard truth that they COULD do it, but just aren’t WILLING to. That hurts so they react poorly.

Your personality is product of what you think, how you feel & what you do.

What you think, how you feel & what you do are all outside of your direct control, they're an indirect consequence of your beliefs. Your free will, will always bend to align with your beliefs. You're free to believe what you want & experience the effects of that belief.

Beliefs are critical to your experience in this 3D realm & yet we all quietly & largely unconsciously accumulate beliefs from the time we start communicating with others.

Beliefs are important & yet few people are open to exploring their beliefs or adopting new ones. It's too painful for them because they think that they'll lose who they are. They've attached their identity to their beliefs.

Who you are (your higher self) goes beyond simple beliefs. You are more than your beliefs & your human personality.

A long time ago I decided to only support a belief while it served me. I resolved to let go beliefs that didn't serve me & replace them with beliefs that did. This one belief has radically changed my experience & I'm only just beginning to understand why.

Beliefs are at the core of the human experience on earth. Our shared experience is heavily defined by our shared beliefs. This is also why you receive such a strong reaction to the expression of your own beliefs.

You talk about having strong beliefs that are in contrast to the beliefs of others. You argue that these beliefs are the reason for your outsized results. You're correct but I'd caution against becoming too attached to these beliefs. Be prepared to let go beliefs that no longer serve you.

I hope this helps. 💚

Strong beliefs, loosely held
