If you are not religious about your sleep schedule, you are killing yourself and your future you. Don’t believe? Go ahead and continue doing so, then check back in 10-20 years and let me know. Sleep is THE most important part of your health, more so than your diet and physical activity.

Any tips for not repeatedly waking up at 3am with panic attacks?

They’re kicking my arse right now.

Yes, having about half an hour of darkness and stillness in bad, sorting through the day events and the future day plans. Also, keeping a consistent schedule of waking up all days, is a good start.

“in bed” (iPhone autocorrect ffs)

I’m pretty good about the later part… can improve on the first half, although that involves some communication. Thanks.

A grounding/earthing pad got rid of my wife’s night terrors. And has helped me sleep 10x better. Highly recommend.

No offense, but I found this hilarious because it’s posted by MrClownWorld 🤣😂🫂

I tend to walk in the garden barefoot each morning but I guess there's still a bunch of charge in my system.

Persistence is the key

Fifteen minute walk is good but I think nothing beats 8 hours straight, what with all the EMFs we contend with

You might also look at diet. Quitting drinking ratcheted up my sleep quality as well.

Yewah pretty much cut out booze a couple of years ago, can count on one hand the times I've had booze in that time.

Congrats, that’s huge

I understand the point about sleep being important, but how does one be religious with their sleep?

Wake up at the same time each day without fail. And when I say wake up, I mean “get the fuck out of the bed and don’t fucking touch your phone or other devices” until 1 hour or so after it

Sometimes I fall asleep with my phone in hand lol, you are right though I should not do that. What about if you had to stay up late? Should you still wake at the same time or let your body get extra sleep?

Yes, same time. Take a nap later in the day, to compensate

A big part for starting my streaming activities was to give me a morning task to focus on before work so I got out of doom scrolling. An hour of music each morning definitely helps my mental state through the day. Recently things have got very tough, especially since coming off meds for generalised anxiety and other brain issues.

Get up with the sunrise, sleep after sunset......natures rules.

I’d rather be awake at night, I feel more awake at night than I do in the day most the time.

I’d say stress reduction is most important, followed by sleep, diet, exercise.

All are important for sure, but all can start improving with proper sleep schedule

Yeah I feel way different when I actually get enough sleep (most days I don’t)

The last part is wildly inaccurate

According to who?

Logic.

Now, sure, if you don’t sleep at all you die.

But if you just get bad sleep off an on that’s not worse than laying there and eating 10k calories a day.

Ok, I see where you are coming from. Clearly the whole balance is important, but what I am saying is that you’ll need to get your sleep in order before any of the other things will start having the full potential of their benefits. So, get your sleeping in order, then (while continuing with good sleeping habits) proceed fixing the rest which would be much easier.

Sure.

Just saying this is vastly different than your last comment that sleep is the most important factor over diet/exercise.

Anywhooo. Sleep is important.

Get your rest.

I love sleep, it's my favourite hobby.

I indulge more than most 😂

Good For You (GFY) 😂🤣

I support this massage.

💯

Some say that we will have time to sleep when we are no longer there. I think it's the stupidest statement ever. Human beings need their hours of sleep. At least 7/8 hours a day. I realize when I work night shifts at work that I don't sleep for 3 days or sleep only a few hours. I have tachycardia and I don't feel well. Sleeping is essential

Your diet and your physical activity will correlate with your sleep quality.

Hierarchical constructs be damned.
