I’m from a small town in Italy, and if you think longevity comes from steaks and relentless self-discipline, think again. Here people drink wine daily, eat carbs without guilt, and yet most live well into their 90s. Maybe the real villains aren’t carbs, but stress and isolation.

I think so after knowing about bavarians 💀💀

nothing beats small towns in Italy.

Cortona is my favourite.

Our carbs are not the same.

Our wine is not the same.

Our oil is not the same.

Sorry, we are not sorry.. 😂🤣🇮🇹🤌🏼

verissimo

🤙🏼🫂

💯

True, even if a little self-discipline and isolation help. At least this is what I learned from my grandparents (who lived to be 96 and 101 years old).

Nicely done ✅

The real villains are seed oils

If everything the anti seed oil lobby said is true, people in Italy wouldn't live past their 40s 🤔

I'm quite sure they're not thriving after 40 😅

Well, that just proves you've never been there 😜

I haven't. I feel way better than I ever did. if I have to change my diet for my health, I will. if not, I won't change.

No the real villain is over indulgence.

You can eat anything, in moderation.

Not if they put it in 90% of the foods you eat.. I know what I'm talking about. I had inflammation for 1,5yrs, did everything to get rid of it and nothing worked.

I tried carnivore: inflammation gone after 1 week. Better energy, better mood, good muscle gain even though I'm almost 40, and the list goes on..

I ain't going back unless my health gets worse

Amazing what eating real food, being around people and being outside does to your health

Oh, and drinking real coffee ☕

A lot of that bluezone stuff came down to family

Great point

Isolation is a killer

Love the idea of a chilling in an Italian town!

.. and also good music ☺️ .. from #cagliari

We’ve set our sights on moving to Italy. Can’t wait.

Don’t forget garlic and olive oil !

It is not about how long most live. Do you want to spend 20 years in a condition that those italians spend in from 70 to 90? Thanks but no thanks.

Do you want to be healthy and strong today and everyday until suddenly you don't know that you died unexpectedly regardless of age at that time? Yes please.

Have you eaten real Italian food? The best food I've ever eaten was in Italy. Farm fresh ingredients of a very high quality. I'd happily live on that diet all the time to be honest.

I have. Before I found what was making me forever sick and weak - I have eaten it a lot, and enjoyed it at that time.

The thing is: plant and milk based foods in Italy are high quality. Meats, both raw and cured, are literally mostly rotten. Intentionally, to achieve a weird taste, but that does not make them good by any measure.

So you can skip the meats, but the problem is that anything plant based has no place in human diet. All carbs, plant oils (except coconut and palm oils), and fiber are just narcotics. So high quality and delici]ous (for the elaborate taste of an addict) cocaine is still cocaine.

If you eat any of those ]tyi]]y ,]]hings, in cold climates you will nto[]]i[]i[t luastu withit a doctor and aome pollts foe ]

Why aren't I high after eating lettuce? This makes no sense.

There are several things with lettuce:

1. Water. Large quantity of water. That does nothing to you.

2. Taste. You are addicted to the specific taste of lettuce, and also to variety of tastes itself. E.g. lettuce + potato + meat + sour cream + salt + sugar + + + . You do not naturally need that mix of tastes, it is an artificial addiction.

3. Fiber. Quite a bit of fiber. It satisfies your addiction to feeling your stomach and guts stuffed with a scratchy thing like fiber. You could eat meat till you explode and would not satisfy this need, because it does not stuff the same way and does not scratch at all. This is an addiction, not natural, you can get rid of it. I have.

Then we have to look into the two types of fiber:

4. Insoluble fiber. Perhaps half is insoluble in lettuce. On top of satisfying the above general fiber addiction it gives a less directly felt negative impact of bloating, generally mechanically slightly interferes with normal function of guts which you do not feel, and goes out.

5. Soluble fiber. Another half. After giving the above satisfaction, it is digested by the “good” bacteria in your guts. Those produce bloating, and push sugar and lactic acid into your blood.

6. Sugar. Miniscule amounts from lettuce. So this does not satisfy your sugar addiction. But even that is not needed in you. It is like miniscule amounts of caffeine, nicotine or cocaine do nothing to those addicts. But larger amounts do. You are just so used to it that you do not know what you feel. Try excessive large amount like half a large jar of sweet jam at once with some water. For a moment you will feel energized and satisfied with perhaps even the top of your head getting hot.

Your body does not need any external sugar whatsoever. Any amount is interference making you high and doing much damage in all cells. The only blood sugar you need is the one that your liver produces from nothing in the exact time, amount and type that is needed.

7. Lactic acid. It is pure poison. Interferes with function of your muscle. Gathers in the ones that are less used, and gives pain when they do get eventually used. Not eating plants, I don’t have this at all in my body. I can sit on sofa for months, then go play hardline basketball in a full size court, and I will feel zero numbness in my muscles afterwards.

Not all narcotics work the same. Fiber is pure mechanical as described. Sugar – described. Nicotine gives you temporary dizziness and then quite soon recovery that then makes you feel fresh and generally satisfied. Caffeine – sort of energy feeling through rushing your heart. Cocaine in small amounts is similar to caffeine but not so heavy on the heart, and large amounts I don’t know.

All of them have negative impacts.

Alkaloids like nicotine, caffeine and cocaine could kill you at once in case of overdose, but hardly do anything in small amounts in the long run.

Fibers won’t kill you on overdose, but keep you forever mildly sick with basically everything.

Sugar won’t kill you at once, but in whatever small regular amounts makes you forever sick and eventually gives cancer, diabetes and Alzheimer’s.

Any vitamins and minerals that might be there in lettuce are the same and better in meat.

So lettuce is pure poison and narcotics. None of this is food. Food is the animal fat and animal protein.

Happy you chose to use your time like that. 😃

I have all the time in the world. Will you find the time to consider or even try on yourself what I wrote? 🤔

If you are in your 50s or more and never visit doctor, not once have a runny nose, never digestion problems, never headache, not exercise daily, no discomforts nor pains ever whatsoever even after occasional exercise, perfet eyesight, skin and hair and nice body shape with no excess fat - no need to risk that, I guess. But then I would be interested to read how you achieve that.

My point was that great Italian food tastes fucking amazing, I wasn’t expecting to read an essay explaining why I’m wrong.

Maybe a demon entered my body when I enjoyed that food? Maybe I won’t live long enough to find out?

You compared lettuce to narcotics. Having had experience with both, I think you’re wrong m8.

I am just sharing my knowledge. You don't have to adopt it, don't have to believe, don't have to test.

The discussion started with me arguing somebody's statement that italian food is key to longevity implying that longevity is the universal objective.

You argued my statement that longevity does not matter with saying that italian food is delicious and fresh.

I replied claiming that freshness and taste does not matter when I don't think it is food.

So it is not like I hijacked your private post on italian delicacies.

Ignore different views if you do not like them, but be grateful for an opportunity to have access to them, just in case. There is endless data storage capacity in the brain to store at the time useless information without draining any resources (this is magic indeed).

I certainly appreciate your input on tastefulness of italian food.

I mean by the second bullet point you’re assuming I have a big thing for lettuce based on a flippant mention of the leaf. You don’t need to convince me that it isn’t the best food known to all of humanity. I can make that judgement myself. Nor do I live on Caesar salads.

The meal I’m referring to, a few years back we did a gif at an Italian farmers’ festival in the north. Before they gig the locals treated us to all kinds of local delicacies, meats, cheeses, vegetables etc. it tasted amazing. Sure a rare steak is very good nutritionally but also quite boring. I wouldn’t want to eat it everyday, despite being fully aware of it’s nutritional value. Variety is the spice of life.

If you want to slag off processed foods you’ll have total agreement as far as I’m concerned!

All that is good. Look, this is not a private conversation. We are both spreading our knowledge through a form of this dialogue. So I am not trying to push you personally nor anybody else into anything, and will not come with any enforcement measures 😉. We are just putting this here for anybody to read. Just a post on a wall.

Fair play, I think the ideal diet can vary from person to person and from geography too. Appreciate the information.

Maybe. But I am yet to see any evidence of that. So far I only know carnivores who do not need doctors whatsoever while not exercising daily.

I think you might have bad sources. Those 70-90 year old Italians are hiking around the mountains, walking everywhere, and hanging out with their friends and family every day. Obviously not everyone (it's the smoking, mostly) but it's crazy how high quality later life is in Italy for many many people.

Your standard for good quality life is significantly lower than mine. My standard is surfing, playing football in full size stadium, never seeing a doctor and taking no pill to the very last day I am breathing. Going for a walk in the woods on some days just doesn't cut it for me.

It works out for me so far. I am old and experienced enough to not care how much longer I have left in this world. Now, the rest of my life, is just pure enjoyment of all the things that I already know well. My only hope and wish for the future is that one of the random mornings, no matter how many from now, I will not wake up after suffering a stroke in my sleep. I am not being original in this. Just copying from the real life of one person from an older generation whom I had a pleasure of knowing.

Agreed! Considering that I’m from your same small town! 😉

I live in Spain and I completely agree with you. But I’d also add processed foods and certain medications to your list of villains

Everything you said is true, but let’s be real—the quality of food in North America (at least in the USA and Canada—I can’t speak for Mexico, but I’d guess it’s similar) is pretty bad. Just looking at food here feels like it makes you gain weight. And sure, stress and isolation don’t help, but the food itself is a big part of the problem.

For the last 20 years, I’ve been traveling to Italy twice a year for work, and every single time, without even trying, I’d come back home five pounds lighter—despite eating whatever I wanted. The difference in food quality is crazy. That’s why my long-term goal is to save enough to retire somewhere with better food, a slower pace, and a bit more sunshine—maybe in northern Italy near Lake Garda or in Aegean Macedonia.

i heard Giacomo is 87 years old

who would've thought that dietary

extremism is yet another retarded trend?

lol so true!

I mean yeah... they don't really do anything either. Italy is known for laziness

I think a lot of Carbs outside of Italy are also ultra processed with tonnes of other additives….. I think there is a correlation here.

or maybe...Jews
