I just casually checked and found I follow *exactly* 1000 people. It was not on purpose, lol
I figured the follow count of 150 would be a good place to pause & feel it out.
But yes … that and searching hashtags for topics of interest. Some nice surprises.

I'll never follow that many people without proper list management. I am a completionist for the npubs I follow.
If I could do lists with a core and then other npubs for when I am caught up and still would rather be on nostr than do my job I would follow many more.
Spending time following thousands of accounts that recycle the same topics just doesn’t make sense.
There is even 1000 people (posting) on nostr?
