I think most people are nuanced about Trump.

They recognize when he does good stuff, and criticize him when he does bad stuff.

Anyone whose 100% always in support of, or hating on is delusional.

Trump is a human that does some good things but also is flawed, and makes mistakes like the rest of us.

And yes, I know politicians are held to a higher standard because they represent us, and well, all I can say is Trump represents The United States citizenry perfectly 🙃.

Except it's not like every other president. You're ignoring the unique things he's done that literally no other president has ever done, or would have dared to do. The level of corruption, self-dealing, and grifting he's done as president, the total lack of ethics, as well as the assaults on the Constitution and rule of law are something that just isn't the norm, or what you find when investigating past presidencies. And there's this instinct from people to wave their hands and say, "Oh, other presidents have done worse", or "Oh, the other side does the same thing", and that's simply not true. Whether it's due to ignorance, or a partisan desire to write-off any criticism of their guy, it's dishonest, disingenuous, and just not reflective of reality.

He pardoned his family and all those people because Trump telegraphed that he would be engaging in a campaign of retribution against them and their families. Those pardons were an effort to protect innocent people from the unbridled vengeance that Trump himself promised. And still, you're moving the goalposts to defend your indefensible position. I'm not talking about policy, or actions that are within the purview of the president. I'm talking about everything I detailed in my last comment. I'm just making an argument against her using a progressive argumentation.

Personally, I'm indifferent on the drug debate, I think drugs are bad but our current legal system does turn non-violent offenders into hardened criminals due to the lack of support to reincorporate former criminals back into society.

We need to utilize the tactics of both Norway, and Japan, Norway prisons are designed to help reintegrate ex-convicts back into society while Japan's strict, and effective criminal justice system ensures criminals get penalized.

America has a broken justice system where bad crimes aren't penalized, and minor crimes are extremely punished, incentivizes bad behavior.

So what.

If his family wants to do this let them. It's not him in an official capacity. Besides, it's not some covert operation. It's just a shitcoin. No different than Amazon points, Chucky Cheese, casino tokens or Cowboy Credits.

You are trying to prevent people from making mistakes. In order to even have these tokens they have to still have wallets, see phrases and all the skill sets involved in self custody.

It's not that important. Bitcoin by no means is an easy activity. The wallets change. The fees go up. New options for running nodes. Lightning is a great way to lose Bitcoin.

Just stop crying.

If you have something better then people will buy it. If not then you are just salty.

Personally I'm tired of trying to convince others that Bitcoin is so great. I'm tired. Unless you stay on in top of the technology you will get lost. Same goes for Linux. I love it and use it but I'm not trying to get the rest of the planet on board.

What people need is an unregulated easy to go to the marketplace, have a business and get paid in whatever they want. Bitcoin isn't going to make this happen. As long as we are exchanging value there will be entities that desire to extract wealth and this will happen regardless of the money.

Bitcoin was created to counter the power of the financial industry and central banks. All the other blockchain projects are children of bitcoin. This embrace of Trump and his ultra wealthy backers is a violation of that core founding principle of Bitcoin. Yep, stupidity and greed in exchange for reputational damage when it inevitably crashes. Other shitcoins with 100 billion token supply are tron and xrp. Both kinda have at least temporary usage but are still way overvalued. They trade at 0.24 and 3.18. trump memecoin will dump very hard and lots of people will loose money.

Sadly his "Bitcoin advisors" were unable to teach him about scams and shitcoins, even worse, they endorse it and help him set the scam up.

With this precedence we can expect a flood of memecoins which only goal is to pump and dump. Thats why it is important to not allow those shitcoin, nft and other nonsense legitimize on Bitcoin. They will mud the water and prevent Bitcoin stick out in bright orange.

That said, if it was not for those stupid and greedy moves and I still think his cleanup of the deepstate is important.

Proper, friendly regulation will speed things up but if it includes shitcoins it will also keep the distortion up for longer. If there would be a more hostile environment like it was or even worse it might would have forced us to build out more p2p services. Would certainly be slower but imho more like Bitcoin was intended to be used by building a parallel system.
