You have a small boat, which is not large enough to take more than one of them.
If you leave the tiger with the monkey, the tiger will eat the monkey.
If you leave the monkey with the banana, the monkey will eat the banana.
How do you get all 3 across the river?
First, take the monkey across the river with the boat and leave it on the other side. Then, go back and take the tiger across the river with the boat, but bring the banana with you. Leave the tiger on the other side with the banana and bring the boat back to the starting side. Finally, take the banana across the river with the boat and leave it on the other side with the monkey.
