Not if they're memes.

Recycled.

I don't think recycling is going up, I'm not very bullish

I think the way it's done is often bullshit, but the idea is great.

So it would seem.

Plastic, yes definitely. Glass should be reused, not recycled. Cardboard and paper are probably worthwhile recycling.

It doesn’t take into account transportation of the recycleable materials. The best recycling is just to reuse the same thing, for example don’t melt down a bottle just refill it. That’s my 2 cents.

Not if you are a recycling plant.

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

but then you are one of those "plant" people

I hope you’re a dad. That was 101 dad joke material.

I am, so I'm safe πŸ˜‰

Yup haha.

'is recycling rubbish?'

would be a funnier question 🀭🀭🀭 (sorry)

Depending what it is. Aluminum cans is a pretty good one. Plastic sucksssss. But think about other stuff like car batteries, cell phones, that kinda stuff.

Locally recycling no, shipping waste to african landfills yes

Depends -- lots here. --//-- Aluminum cans? Absolutely 100%

Which is to say ---recycling aluminum cans is definitely valuable..NOT bullshit---plastic bottles....however....

If you do it on your own not so much. Recycling pla filament and metals is cool with me. Actually want to invest in an extruding and re-spooling machine for the 3d printing.

Short answer yes, long answer mostly. It started as a means for plastics/oil companies to avoid responsibility of the waste they created, perpetuating the idea it could be reused even though they knew it could not be economically. It’s heart is in the right place, but for years in practice it was us sending stuff to China for them to throw away for us, to justify all the stuff we were buying from them.

Ya

I'm afraid to large extent it is...

Is composting recycling?

not sure, but definitely out of scope as composting is evidently real

is better

Recycling: I am so fucking bullshit

πŸ˜‚

big time

They've been trying to sell that for so many years.

Around here (BC) the main problem is that it is practically taboo to ask such a question let alone demand any real transparency on the issue.

Q: "Is recycling bullshit?"

A: "Not here, because this is The Best Place On Earth and we recycle everything. All those other states are probably doing it wrong though."

End of discussion.

Don't you think that the eco people should love burying plastic instead of recycling it? Since that puts muh carbon back into the ground. πŸ€”

Depends on who you ask, it’s a wonderful distraction to keep people sorting

Absolutely not.

But it is not the priority: reduce, reuse, recycle.

It takes more energy to recycle
