Freedom tools like Nostr vaunt liberty and can resist co-option. It helps me "be the change I want to see"

Because it's a place to come together with like minded, freedom tech loving individuals who love freedom in general and no censorship.

Several reasons… there is no algorithm to evoke emotions(unfortunately no algorithm also makes it hard to follow people that don’t post a lot though too), the culture is generally more positive, and I’m not a product for big tech to sell… those are the biggest reasons

Why I use nostr:

To test my beliefs and understanding of the world amongst an open, respectful, and thoughtful community.

To connect with people who share similar values and goals for the future.

To be part of something bigger than myself, and in some way maybe help promote the ideals of the protocol.

To find a place where authenticity is still valued.

To laugh. To think. To be.

Love the opportunities that will rise from the open source code. Already seen some cool projects. Also got Bluesky and there's already cool apps for that and it's In beta!! only known about this decentralisation thing about 2 months and I'm studying comp sci at GCSE still but I hope to have some sort of job related to this when I'm older.

It's sane. I think on every level. Protocol to People (usually, I have been fortunate to not encounter many loons, if any, so far)
