Totally agree. Constantly amazed by the number of people that don't realise that data is routinely generated for every individual system. If the gov wanted to know who has left the country more than 4 times per year, it would be trivial. To answer some of the questions raised by this video would just be a more complicated & expensive query, presuming they had access to all the databases, which is just a matter of "I need access to that database". It blows me away how much people read into the dystopian view without stopping to realise nothing has changed except the hype machine is turned up louder.

Defnitly crazy. But when Snowdens reports about CIA or Facebooks privacyintrusive actions were reveiled, many people did not change their livestyle.
So for most citizens, this is an even far smaller intrusion into privacy, than those two examples I just stated. So would seem odd to me if there was an outrage for this in the public sphere.
PS: in no way I express to be OK with this intrusive activities of tracking. Nor am I OK with Facebook, Google nor any nontransparent federal institution intruding my privacy and security. I only say I would be happy but surprised to see public outrage on this. And more importantly more people adapting opensource applications into their private and worklive.
They aren't just censoring the internet, they want to control our travel as well.
It's not just UK.
Australia and UK are leading but USA Canada and the EU (mostly Germany and France pushing it in the EU) are all doing similar things

Privacy is in danger in the UK.
First, they implement mandatory ID requirements for internet access. Then, they denounce the use of VPNs. Now, they want to track your movements in and out of the country and try to keep you from leaving more than 3x a year.
So much for “a western democracy that protects civil rights and freedom.”
