In the long run, this bitcoin core drama could be good for the network.

We’ve depended a lot on Bitcoin core and it’s one of the most centralized aspects of bitcoin. Going rogue was inevitable and I’m surprised it took this long tbh. Even if Bitcoin core doesn’t push this update, people are switching to alternative options which decentralizes the network further. This is a good thing.

Remember that you don’t have to make a decision right now. You do not have to update your node. If you’re unsure about where to stand or don’t really understand the issue, you don’t have to do anything. You don’t have to form an opinion right now and you can always change your opinion later. I don’t completely understand this issue and kind of don’t care to understand. I have a fucking life and I’m not going to get all bent out of shape every time there is drama with devs and other bullshit. I remember wasting so much time trying to understand ordinals and if I just spent time with family, stacking sats, and touching grass it would’ve worked itself out. I don’t even remember the other retarded thing they tried implementing. The point is that things will work themselves out with time. The best course of action will become very clear eventually and just waiting will save you a lot of headache.

When you’re not sure, the answer is no.

Atta boy. How long has it been?

Very recent knots.

Same! I'm 32% synced. My nodes isn't Jameson Lopps Google drive

It was going to happen. There is a lot of VC money involved. Everyone wants to change bitcoin for their business model to work.

I just take 80 iq approach. If I don’t need something, I just don’t upgrade it.

This is the right take, especially for non technicals. It’s always how I play these situations - do nothing. Observe, make note, but the right answer will materialize in time. Until then, not doing anything with my node.

pro Bitcoin tip: don't follow what's popular

In this case, I’m not sure what is popular

here's a good resource for client versions: https://bitnodes.io/dashboard/

and for client implementations: https://luke.dashjr.org/programs/bitcoin/files/charts/software.html

Super centralized. I wonder what this chart will look like by next year.

Bitcoin has always been called anti-fragile and I do believe it is one of the best examples of a technological project that meets that label... and every now and then it gets tested.

These tests prove that it is antifragile. They are necessary I think.

I've seen many. They are still a little nerving...

Yeah they can be. I think it’s important to keep a level head though. People were saying this update could turn bitcoin into a shitcoin. I don’t see how and I think that doomer mindset is a problem too.

Can someone link me to the drama? I must be feed challenged this week, because I completely missed it

This is probably one of the most balanced takes I’ve seen.

People forget that not reacting is a valid option ... especially when you’re not sure what’s really going on. Bitcoin's strength is its resilience over time, not reacting to every drama spike.

Let the noise settle. Stack, touch grass, and watch the signal emerge.

?

Except, "things" don't work themselves out.

People work things out.

And if you don't get involved, someone else will do. You may oray not like the outcome.

Well said.

Exactly. Perfect comment! You can form an opinion but time is to fix things. It's useless to lose days of life. Life is one!
