When so many people are talking about 'something' it becomes the truth and that is called 'social proofing'.
Sometimes they are very subtle.
How do you discern which to believe and which is to ignore? #asknostr

i ignore most because most discourse isn't really relevant in "real" life.
few things are the exception, i think.
that is very insightful take. With my search to understand emotions and behaviours the more I learn of my own biases and others. Which is in a way a precious gift with a heavy weight of responsibility. πβΊοΈ
most discourse is so focused on triggering and evoking reactions, so i try to remain distant or even dismissive at times.
i have very real people to serve, so i can't give that too much bandwidth
very well said. You only have a 'finite' energy. You invest it to whoever and whatever matters to you. At the end of the day, it is your life. Those who know how to invest their energy properly are those who are not run down and built for resilience. π
I like to use rational thought & my own research to dismiss or prove an idea.
I find it a good mental game to try and satire many of the social proofs here. It keeps them too of mind
that is good exercise for your cognitive function. π
the rabbit hole is fun as long as it doesn't make you become reactive or pull you away from those who love you.
if it is entertainment and you understand that it is purely for 'fun' then that is good. Our brain needs to shut off and have fun from time to time. But with moderation. What we exposed ourselves - fun or not are adding to our brain's training and rewiring. Hence, I am overly protective of what I exposed myself. βΊοΈ
Always with intuition & feelings. The mind is too easily tricked & distracted.
I'm very careful in making new agreements (adopting new beliefs).
New information either fits into my current belief framework or it challenges it. If it truly challenges my beliefs, I can't easily dismiss or ignore it. It keeps reentering my consciousness until I accept the challenge & play with it.

it is a great way of evolving. active consumerism is very healthy. It takes a lot of mental capacity to be critical. π
Reasoning from first principles.
Also follow the money, follow the incentives.
so true, follow the money. I think I heard this from Simon Sinek, paraphrasing here, 'tell me where your income from and I'll tell you how you behave'. I don't mind people being upfront of what they do than lie to your face.
