not sats. bitcoin is bitcoin #Bitcoinisbitcoin

not sats. bitcoin is bitcoin #Bitcoinisbitcoin

The loudest morons pushing for this are all just spam bots... 🤔 Very interesting

No solid arguments, just a petty tone.

OMG, who came up with *that* system?!

20 shillings in a pound

21 shillings in a guinea

Anyway why do Americans still measure in feet & inches instead of the decimal system like the rest of the world? Using millimeters is FAR and away more simple than using fractions.

We use feet, inches and fractions because we can actually make things to those measurements. We use metric also because we understand math. We also use nautical measurements because we understand that too. As engineers we use metric feet in tenths, hundredths and thousandths.

We also don't cry about it. Nothing is simpler than being able to break a full sheet of plywood into even half, even quarters and even thirds. There are also basic natural and God measurements that are importantl with load and weight engineered solutions built into the imperial system. Like flooring, wall studs, and much more.

Basically by using the imperial system we don't have to hire a phoney baloney engineer to make things because the error correction, redundancy and long life is built into the measurements, materials and processes.

Yeah well Britain created the imperial system and has largely abandoned it. Yes it's true that engineers understand math but the typical American student is hopeless at math. And to suggest that it's easier to cut a sheet of plywood in half using the imperial system is ridiculous. Engineers in Europe don't use the imperial system but it's nice that you've stuck to the old fashioned way of doing things 👍

Thank you for proving my point. Obviously you are not a carpenter.

lol remember when a penny was useful? Pepperidge farms remembers.

How many to a galleon ?

But Mags, back then we didn't have to Keep up with the Kardashians, we could focus on how the money worked

The same people who refer to one cent coins as "pennies" are the same people who want to rename SATs to Bitcoins.

Agreed but we need more options between Bitcoin and Sats.

Kilo [k] ksat

Mega [M] Msat ?

Something like that would work.

I'm way too young to have used this, but I know it from all the gambling with the old folks I did as a kid.......

Hey isn't this just the money version of the measuring system the muricans still use?

Ironic we kept the ‘Imperial’ system, and you lot got saddled with the Frenchie system. ☺️

I remember them all well, and to complete the picture:

20 shillings = 1 pound

21 shillings, or 1 pound 1s = 1 Guinea

And good 'ol Groats (1 Groat was 4 old pennies, but was discontinued in 1856)

Even I’m too young to remember them! 😂

For me 1 sat = 1 unit of value.

Sats are sats

The old English monetary system was based on the Carolingian system which actually worked through large parts of Europe during the middle ages and was partly based on older roman denominations:

Pound = 12 shillings = 240 pennies

Shilling = 12 pennies

New Denarius (penny)

I like Sats. I also like the idea of some inbetween (1k, 50k, 250k, etc) names. Bonus if they sound old timey, and can reference something as far back as the Carolingians or Rome.

TenSpot = 1/10th of BTC

People don’t understand fiat, and fags are worried about “sats”?

I feel the same about the American Standard system of everything (length / distance, weights, temperature, volume and dates). I’m surprised you guys kept seconds, minutes and hours. What the hell.

Everyone understood OG Bits
