Toes with no spaces between them😳??

A lot of times it's the pinky toe squeezed up against the next one.

In the case of bunions it's your big toe that is squeezed as well.

Very rare for people wearing shoes to not have some form of issue that can be seen early but requires surgery once old.

As a bball player my whole life, I developed bunions and big toe smashed and pinky toe.

I have since found a protocol to help reverse it over time - and I'm seeing TREMENDOUS progress in a short time.

The bottom of one of my toes kind of gets folded under the one next to it and forms like a hard piece of skin. I have to cut it off with nail clippers every now and again🤮😂.

You can fix this 💗👀

Very few people have webbed toes. Weird when thinking about it but it does happen

As a rock climber it’s basically inevitable…

Yeah those shoes suck, we need a five fingers climbing option developed 🤌

Unfortunately that would defeat the purpose of a climbing shoe, climbing barefoot is a nice alternative, and has a niche community.

I hike barefoot, just did ~5miles the other day.

I had to get surgery a couple of years ago for a bone spur. It took me a long time to find the right doctor. I didn’t want to mess that up.

In the big toe?

Yes. It was really painful, got worse over about 5 years. I was originally going to get it done in 2020 but had to postpone for 3 years because…you know what happened.

I can’t say I’m glad I waited so long but I’m glad it got done and doesn’t bother me nearly as much anymore.

Have you made the change to toe socks?

& What shoes are you wearing?

Had a Morton's neuroma before switching to the barefoot lifestyle.

Barefoot shoe lifestyle or actually barefoot?

Both?

+1 for barefoot shoes.

MY FEET HURT

WHAT SHOES DO YOU WEAR?

GOT SOME NIKE RUNNING SHOES THAT LOOKED SUPPORTIVE BUT I WEAR SANDALS USUALLY :/

I had plantar fasciitis for several years, I moved away from "traditional" shoes and started wearing wide toebox style shoes and the issues ceased almost immediatley. Currently wearing Lems and they're amazing.

Get yourself a pair of these. Side effects include loosing friends quicker than if you joined Scientology. Vibram 5 Fingers. #footstr indeed *needs a cold shower*

I have 3 pairs, it's all I use outside of farmwork :)

THIS IS THE WAY 💗🍆🤌

Hokas are amazing sneakers. Feels like walking on clouds. Another benefit of the very large cushioning at the bottom is you appear a little taller 😀

Had/have injury induced plantar fasciitis.

After hiking harder terrain, my feet are widening again, to the point that I need wider shoes.

I'm experimenting with wider shoes of a barefoot style.

For sure change to toe socks, & if you can just jump to these.

Not waterproof - but I do everything in these including running in the mountains.

I have other minimalist shoes for wet weather.

Those look good

do you ride a bike with these? Wondering if they are thick soled enough for pedal metal to not hurt feet over long rides

These do not have thick soles. Bicycle or motorcycle?

I do ride a bicycle with these

bicycle. I used to ride with vivo barefoot shoes but one part of my pedal pushed on the outer edge of my foot and it became really painful and sensitive after about a year of near daily riding

Vibram v-train2.0 fixes this.

Thanks I’ll look into it!

I bet these would bother you if vivos bothered you, but ive never owned them

For daily riding, I use clip in pedals. I got one with a normal pedal on one side and the clip on the other so I can ride with any shoes. I usually bring a pair of shoes to change into.

Clip in pedals are game changers for hills and long distance

I should do this. I have a kid on the back of the bike now often so am nervous about the learning curve of getting foot out.

I'm a fan of xero shoes but they aren't wide enough once your feet start to adjust to the extra space.

I use the xero360 for tennis & pickleball & when it's wet outside.

But the spacing of the toes is the whole friggin point - if you don't like it - it means most likely that your toes are weak.

At the very least get toe socks to pair with your xeros.

I don't use any normal socks anymore & it's what got me to go Vibram 5fingers.

I would have to try them again, its been 10 years since I had them.

As I have gone down my barefoot journey my feet have flattened out and my toes have spread out on their own. I have ran a half marathon in Xero shoes

Yeeee make sure you go for the "V-Train 2.0"

That's the pair I love & vouch for.

I've put ~100miles of running on trails with them, never going back to another shoe.

Love that you did a half with xeros! LFG 😎💗

I can't do for socks... Ugh.

Those shoes look interesting.

Force yourself to do the socks & end up at the shoes 💗.

Does anyone make wool toe socks?

Injinji has Merino Line.

Vibram has one that's merino, but he careful the rest are not.

Maro makes organic cotton socks - have a couple pairs I just got, gonna try em today!

Cotton is awful. I'm hardcore wool only socks. (Well, wool blends are ok as long as it's over 70% wool.)

cotton socks, and thermals, are bullshit, bull... fuckin... shit.

but i will say that unless it's merino, fine wool, it's horrible to wear, except if you freezin better itchy than frozen

Injinji merino is the way, I agree.

Just ran with the Maro, it performed okay - gonna test on a longer run and see how it fares.

Something about 0% synthetic material is what draws me.

Btw zero itchyness from the Injinji, all merino stuff I buy is always quality with none of that drawback.

What shoes are you trying?

These are literally Temu shoes:

https://files.sovbit.host/media/0689df5847a8d3376892da29622d7c0fdc1ef1958f4bc4471d90966aa1eca9f2/18c0568ae81b7f393e5ae4a301acfdf6b5a7d71b8b95b2b32b96ea64f76a492c.webp

It's silly, but they are $17. Way cheaper than any "good" shoes, but are honestly good enough as a proof of concept.

Temu actually has and ships physical merch?

They don't look bad at all!

Those look nice and roomy in the toe box.

I’ve been using zero-drop barefoot shoes for years. Fantastic.

Lots of people here swearing by barefoot shoes. My peeps.

I’ve had many brands, exclusively barefoot, for 15 years at least. As long as it’s flat and flexible, with a wide toe box …

I’ve experimented with thick and thin soles, high and low tops, sandals, dress shoes, running shoes, and even combat boots. … All good for different use cases.

Fixed flat feet, busted ankle, crooked toes, and lots of other issues (some since childhood) over these years … along with plenty of walking and running and various foot exercises.
