It's kinf like a reddit or hacker news. But with zaps. People on there are quite generous to those who provide value. And there are downzaps. So the incentives are solid. I think it's great. It's still small. They are working toward being completely non custodial as well but you can always hook it up to your lightning setup if you choose. Check out out. You can sign in with email, lightning or nostr.

Even if you don't delete them eventually they will ban you. Truth social recently banned me because I had made some posts saying that truth social won't survive because Nostr is decentralized.
They got angry at that and banned me accused me of using my profile to advertise. 🤣

Welcome! Curious, what were your main reasons for this decision?
Main reasons are:
1. My wife and I have a baby on the way and I don’t want social media to be a big distraction and detract from my family life, so only having Nostr will be helpful.
2. I believe in the Nostr vision of decentralized social media. I don’t want anyone telling me what I’m allowed to say. I figured the best way to promote it is simply to use it and get off the other platforms.
3. I realized that I only care about a handful of people on those platforms. Most of my time scrolling was a huge waste of time, looking at things that I don’t even care about. Those that I truly care about I will text or call them, I don’t need to be on social media to keep in touch with them.

A vast portion of Nostr only discusses what one could say without recourse on any other platform… just to a much smaller audience.
Most are so good at obeying, even though no one is telling them what to say here they still live within “approved” lines.
