So I am no on week 9 of my #Carnivore journey. I feel great. I feel strong, fit and in good spirits.

One interesting observation that I really cant emphasise enough is my new ability to tan and have glowing skin.

I am your classic red head from Scotland. Always had pale skin with light freckles and would always burn if I spent more than 1 hour in the sun light. I also always used sunscreen.

This summer while being on carnivore. I can now go outside shirtless for 2 hours with no sunscreen and have a nice glow afterwards. As long as I am careful I can tan and not burn.

I really had no idea as a ginger I could ever tan. Feels like a miracle considering I went 24 years of my life with pale white skin. I now no longer look like pale vampire in the summer months at least ๐Ÿ˜….

It really is quite interesting how many anecdotes I read from people trying out a meat-based diet and reporting significant improvements.

One thing I will throw out there is if you want a little protection from the sun without sunscreen, look at supplementing with Astaxanthin. Consistent use can help protect from the sun in my experience, and there is data supporting this too.

I think itโ€™s because of the total lack of seed oils in your body. Your skin now contains only healthy fats.

How long have been following this lifestyle now?

Hard to say. Been conscious of it for about a year or so, but have had periods where I wasnโ€™t so strict.

Also still experimenting. I do use carbs for working out for example. Itโ€™s the seed oils that Iโ€™m strictest on.

I did Keto for about two years and now on carnivore. I wanted to to try cure my eczema skin disorder which it did 6 weeks in.

I just find like my life has been upgraded. Everyhting just feels slightly easier than when I was on keto.

I may have been eating seed oils while I was keto, its hard to tell nowadays whatโ€™s really in our food.

Exactly. Full keto requires so much fat for energy. Made me tired and grumpy.

But grass fed steak, wild fish and free range eggs. You should be pretty safe.

It does depend on the meat source though. My understanding is that chickens and pigs contain some of the highest concentrations of seed oils because most eat feed laced with it.

You are what you eat eats.

More reason to source quality meat from farmers/ranchers who's animals eat clean. And shake the rancher's hand.
