The whole town square thing is retarded. The world is full of many towns. There isn't just a single town with a single square where people go to discuss ideas. There never has been. It's a made up concept. The discussions and debates happen all over within a broader culture. Some online, some off, some on one platform, some on another.
Now that is what I called good quality reply. I think you made good point there.
You should also consider that some other places control who can say what on the alleged town square. Like X. Some people have been banned from that town square because they disagreed with some authoritatian. The entire idea is nonsense. If anything, Nostr is the closest thing to that being a reality.

youtube seems to have developed into as close as you can get to a decentralized media production co.
itโs great how the social medias have expanded who can be a performer / performance artist. Outside of the whole โeliteโ Hollywood thing. But also, a lot of people still donโt want to be performers at all.
